Kami died during the night :( I'm crushed, but she isn't suffering anymore. She's back in Africa now free to eat bugs and bask in the sun.
She looked ok when I went out last night, but when I got home a few hours later and checked on her, she had fallen and looked dead but was still...
No, he's named after the plant! His name is short for Dracaena but I made it a bit more manly sounding (dra-kane-na instead of dra-seen-na). Except for Kami whose name is the Japanese word for spirit, all my chams (and one of my cats) are named after plants :D
this is her cage (the bottom is an aquarium background over screen):
this picture was taken on April 22nd when she was still eating on her own:
and this was how she looked today:
Her mouth was cleaned out and then she was on Baytril. That was back in October. The first vet I took her to was an idiot (it took 2 visits to get her mouth taken care of). I has a fecal done at the time and it was negative for anything. Would she have lived this long and still have an...
The white part is the urates. If the cham is dehydrated, then it will be yellow or orange. The poop part will be poop colored. Yours sounds healthy, but I'm sure someone else will post pics for you :)
She's been straining a lot when going to the bathroom, but then it's white urate and runny poop and sometimes a little blood. Is this common as well in old age? I've been feeding her small crickets and baby food mixed with pedialyte. Is there anything else that could cause her to have a hard...
I remember that post. I'm thinking about moving her to a smaller cage and setting it up like that.
I gave her a dose of reptaid earlier and then tried to feed her. Unfortunately she threw up the crickets, so I'm not sure how much reptaid is left in her system. I'll give her another dose...
That video is over a year old. I left a comment asking how old the chameleon is and if he's still alive. He might not even be around anymore. I've come to learn that a lot of people on youtube don't want to listen to advice on their chameleons. You can try, but you may not get any response...
The pics I have up are a couple months old. I haven't taken any pictures of her lately. I'm not sure how old she is, she was full grown when I got her and was wc. I've had her almost a year now.
Her drinking is normal and her urates are very white. She drinks from me and on her own. I've been force feeding her again which I hate doing and giving her baby food mixed with water and pedilayte (she'll also drink this on her own), so she's been hydrated this whole time. Her eyes are...
Her grip is still strong enough for her to still hold on, but not as strong as it was and she's kind of shaky when she walks. Her feet are also kind of different now from everyone else's feet, like they seem curled up more almost like she has athritis. Do chams get arthitis in old age like...
