Larry has been letting me hand feed him as of late and its gotten to the point where if he sees my hand he runs up to it expecting food. Just a moment ago he got my hand and he squeaked and pulled his tongue back. A moment later he started pushing it out in a strange way. I tried giving him...
The breeder I got Larry from said he was born on March 18th of this year, so that would put him at five months, I think he is probably between three and a half to four months though. It would be a relief if it was a sperm plug, kinda freaked me out at first.
I came home a few minutes ago and saw that Larry went to the bathroom, this is completely new though:
The poo is on top, the urate is a little below it, and there is a long string/gob of yellow slimy lookin stuff. I am pretty clueless as to what it could be. I will get the help form filled...
Larry is definitely bulking up. He was a little bit of a late bloomer but he is filling out and doing his thing. He has a great grip which is good knowing that he came from a breeder who had less than favorable conditions. Thanks for the wishes and comments :)
I have been staying off of the forums for the last week or two mainly due to starting a new job and getting ready for the fall school term to kick off. I figured now that I have a few free minutes (as well as my own internet connection, halleluja) I would give everyone interested a brief Larry...
Larry has learned that if he sees me with a cup or bag in my hand its feeding time. He will rush down from the top and shoot crickets out of the cup, its kind of cool actually. He toasted off around 15 or so, I didn't count but it was a good amount.
I received my order of 500 crickets today from Ghanns and I got crickets smaller than he usually gets fed because I know by the time he can toast all of them off they will be plenty big, some possibly too big. I believe they are the two week old crickets (either 1/8th or 1/4th of an inch, memory...
I have been told that that is a good amount to feed a baby and in most cases they should be fed as much as they can eat per feeding. I'm certainely not arguing with you, I'm just telling you what I have been told.
He usually dusts off between 15-20 a day. I feed him twice a day and usually start with six or seven crickets per feeding. He's a growing boy, he likes his food
I managed to find 30 crickets for him to chomp on and I will check back in a day to see if they have more. I saw the calci worms at petco and they were all labeled as 5/16 and there wasn't a single survivor.
I haven't seen a lot of small supers, I have seen some small meal worms though. Even the small ones are bigger than the space between his eyes, wouldn't that mean they are a bit big for him? I attempted giving him a small meal worm about a month ago and it looked like he was choking down.
I...
I ordered some crickets from Ghanns on Thursday night and paid for next day afternoon but they didn't arrive yesterday. They may still come today but I'm concerned that if they don't Larry may not have any crickets until Monday. I fed him what I had left this morning and they were the last small...
I have left the door open numerous times and he doesn't really venture out. I will probably try getting a plant or small tree and place it in front of the door and see if that helps.
Lately, Larry has been coming up to the bag of crickets when I dump them on the leaves and he has been picking...
I have always had trouble getting Larry out of his home. It is rare that I take him out and I don't try very often, and he always lets me know though that he doesn't like my hand near him. Last time I took him out was to do some maintenance on his enclosure and he was hissing, throwing his head...
Thanks everyone for the replies, guess I will pass.
Do you mean a panel of pvc or pvc screen? I have a plastic sheet behind the enclosure that water catches on and then runs into a towel, I don't want to constantly have to wash towels and worry about mildew becoming an issue.
It would just be one sheet for the back pannel and he isn't much of a "I'm gonna poop on my walls" kinda chameleon, not that he as shown me at least. Also, I don't want to block off one of his climbing surfaces. I figure if it holds water he would appreciate the extra humidity and it still...
It is for the back wall of the enclosure, not so much the bottom. The enclosure has two side panels and a front and back pannel, as well as floor and ceiling. The carpet would go on the back pannel.
