(Such a good helpful forum)
I live in Manchester, UK, and I worry about the night time temperature too. This is my first Chameleon (Panther) and I worry about him getting too cold at night. I suppose as time goes on and I get more confident with them I will be more relaxed about leaving him...
Thank you,
Thank you Jojackson, I'd posted on another thread since this one. Not sure why I missed checking back on this thread. Keith is doing well.
Thanks again.
Many thanks,
Thank you for your reply, sorry fro not getting back sooner. I didn't mention I had the UV tubes in place, (2.0 & 5.0). I appreciate you putting this information in your post. Your info' on wattage was beneficial, thank you.

Cheers! Im very excited. Im almost set up for that arrival!
Now my chameleon, he's in is terrarium, he has all his vines to climb on, artificial greenery (for now) to hide in. He's eating his locusts which I put calcium on and he has a supplement once a week that has D3 etc...
Some advice I was given is to have two UV tubes, one 2.0% and one 5.0%. This is the set up my friend uses and he breeds Chameleons and a museum nearby also uses these two tubes.
Could anybody give me some advise on shedding?
I have recently got my Panther Chameleon. He is 4 months old, what am I to expect when the shed comes round?
Going off his food?
Increase his misting?
Temperature change?
Lighting change?
Diet change?
I just want to be really prepared.

I'm afraid the excitement will wear off around May when my first child is born. I'm expecting a little girl and that just might pip the Chameleon to the post for excitement ha ha. I'm sure she will grow up Chameleon mad! (as well as Chicken mad, poodle mad, etc...)
I have just got my first Chameleon and it is a Panther. All I can add to your list from my experiences is as many vines as you can afford! My little fella' loves them, all over the place he is.
I buy the thin ones and the thick ones and twine them together. As the vines twist round they provide...
Yeah, I would imagine thats the case. Annoying though. Still I've got the temperature working right but I have manually changed the dial at night. I don't mind until I get it sorted. I'm over the moon with him, he's eating really well too.
My delivery of locusts come tomorrow and my ceramic...
I'm new to Chameleon ownership so I have been doing some very recent research on the plant subject. I've contacted my local museum becuase they have an amazing Panther Chameleon exhibit. I asked what plants they have and two very impressive plants they said was Cheese Plant and Devils Ivy. I'm...
