My veiled girl get edema pretty bad during infertile egg production and a while after laying. It does interfere with her aim and also her swallowing. There's not much you can do about it really but during this time I just hold bugs closer and she just nabs them out of my hand :) as soon as the...
Great pictures Jann! The kids are looking awesome, glad you all got out for some 4th of July funs :) Sadie looks like a little tub lol! Love that little girl :)
I think they're either dried or you can get ones that are sort of preserved in liquid. Either way they're not good for you r dude. If you need to then you can freshly kill or disable live crickets to make it easier to feed him :)
Baytril can cause a decreased appetite for sure. The vet has given you the carnivore care to help keep his strength up most likely. Keep at it with the showers although he doesn't look dehydrated, he may just be a private drinker so just keep giving him opportunity. A lot of people force feed...
Yay so glad you found her and nothing bad happened (apart from your heart attack of course) it's easy to sex veiled chams, look at the back feet and if you see a little spur then she's a he. If no spur she is in fact a she!
Look high, up curtains, lamps etc. do you have any cats or dogs? Search each room starting with the room her cage is in, she has to be somewhere :) don't panic though, she's inside and she can probably see you even if you can't see her. Remember they are experts at hiding. Is she a hungry girl...
Dehydration and over heating are two lead causes of health issues in baby jax. If they're sleeping its not a good sign. I know these were likely surprise babies (I have not read the entire thread) and you have probably been asked about temps etc. so I just want to suggest proper housing like a...
He doesn't seem to be in too bad shape but he doesn't look great. His eye looks like it has something going on but his bones look good. His dark cours show that he's not feeling great either. Glad you'll take him to a vet :)
If it was me I would take him to a good vet to make sure the meds are the right ones and see exactly what he's being treated for. If he's not eating it could be due to pain, antibiotics, or many other issues! Only a vet will be able to give you all the info you need to make him all better.
Oh it was broken? Like I say I'm no vet! Hope it's just the old injury and not mbd. Hopefully not a combo of mbd and babies! It's common to get a fem jax and she ends up being pregnant, gestation is a long time since they are live bearers. If help doesn't come along soon you could maybe pm one...
I have seen stories here on the forums where a guy lost his veiled and found him literally months later! Don't lose hope and keep searching! I hope she turns up soon and doesn't go too far!
I'm no vet but that doesn't look good :( the back leg bones look curvy. Wait until a vet or more experienced member comes along, but I think you're right. What did your vet say about it? I don't know how you would treat mbd in a jacksons chameleon, it might be different because they are more...
All the chemical colour changer are controlled by hormones so I guess colour changes when the chameleon is in an extreme mood (sort of) like when my girl is happy (like when I give her a big juicy raspberry) she goes super duper bright! But when I finally get her out of her cage she goes the...
Spots can mean a lot of things! My girl goes spotty when she's hunting, hiding or pooping as well as when she's stressed. Climbing the mesh and being spotty is most likely a sign of stress or annoyance of some sort. My girl climbs the mesh at egg laying time but your guy could just be annoyed...
