    Weight of Panther Chamleons

Hey all, Just trying to get a feel for the normal and extreme ends of the scale for a Panther chameleons weight. What do you have, and what does it weigh? Steve

    Tiny Tiny Baby Veiled

For the record, not everyone agrees with this. Some, like me, believe that if you adopt one earlier, you increase the odds that the cham will be more tolerant of handling. I believe the key is routine, but limited handling before it develops a fear of people. Others disagree. But I don't...

    Ambanja Male Screamer

Thanks. I was chuckling when I wrote it. But honestly, I wish I'd have started with the "my chameleon screams too much" idea first...really makes me laugh. The thought of someone opening the UPS package, pulling out the cham, and it just starts screaming won't stop. funny stuff! I know...

    Ambanja Male Screamer

Well, I guess its better than the alternative: "Dear Sir; I was very pleased with my Adult Male Ambanja Screamer you sold me... Until it started screaming. Is there any way to shut this thing up? I haven't slept in three days! Its constant, I tell you! I just thought that your use...

    Ambanja Male Screamer

Dear Sir, I am writing you this letter to express my extreme dissatisfaction in a chameleon that I purchased from you. You may recall that I am the collector from Florida with the female Ambanja-Nosy Be-Sambava-Tamatave-Ambilobe cross that produced flat gray offspring. In any event, I...

    Will these eggs be viable?

Uncross them. The eggs are fine. I had an "accident" that involved new eggs being underwater for days on end. Those that we're underwater were floating in the container. All viable. Steve

    Will these eggs be viable?

Yes, if the eggs are viable, they are good no matter how much water was in there. This is not a guess.

Anyone Idea what the problem was?

Really sorry for your loss. I hope you will not allow this set back to throw you off completely and you'll try again. Note that even rocks can be ingested too unless they are the right size. My wife's cousin has a cham and that she keeps in a cage with a plastic bottom and one day she heard a...

    Female Veileds for sale

Have two virgin adult female veileds for sale. These are CB animals. There are a lot of "bargain" WC animals from Florida out there and these ain't them. :) Photo of one is attached. She was intended as a breeder but never bred, and available for $95 plus $25 shipping. She's about 7 months...

    Baby Age

Your points are well taken, as are the others. Especially the sexing issue that was brought up unless they are like veileds where they are dimorphic from birth. But one thing that I can't get behind is the idea that babies are harder to care for. In my house, I think its the opposite because...

    Baby Age

I know you by reptutation and I respect your business practices. But, if the chameleon is 2 months and 29 days, then..??? Ok, I like to kid, but I'm trying to make a point that it varies by individual and circumstance, regardless of whether they are a beginner or not. I don't have near the...

    Baby Age

I've just ready yet another care sheet that insists that chameleons should not be purchased at an age of less than 3 months. I've routinely raised and sold them at less than that age and have personally had no fatalities from any of the folks I've dealt with on either end of the transaction...

    New person here!

Yeah, and then when you do pick them up, kind of swish them around in your mouth. They love that... :)

    Thoughts about mesh reptariums?

I don't have much of anything to back it up, but I have anecdotal evidence of debris getting in chams eyes when new ones are used. Perhaps left over remnants from manufacturing. But washing them first will probably solve that, though I never checked that.

    odd behavior to me...im confused

When females are developing eggs, their nutritional needs are much higher. They have a capacity to gain weight really fast at this stage too. Both of these are good indicators that they will need to lay eggs within weeks. All that being said, when they are going through the phase, they...
