free ranging is where there is no cage, its not for all chameleons as some do enjoy to roam your house, but if its in your room just keep your door and closset closed when you leave, its pretty much some sort of tree or hanging plants on shelfs with the lights somehow over your free range...
well when babies arnt well established before they are sold the new owner will most likely experience a lot of problems (i.e you)
that is why on here people wait till their chameleons are around 2-3 months old and are eating and drinking with no problem. I'm sorry for your loss, don't get...
uhhh you can try to raise the ambient temp but it should be colder near the bottom of the cage as they regulate heat by moving up and down on their plants

the cage (still needs screen top and the door attached) the two sides are acrylic transparent plastic and the base is a pan made from duct sheet metal then water proofed. it looks pretty good so far and ill finally...
it was a while back when it could actually harm them they changed it up and its safe now and many people use it, its just the rumor that is still going around that it can blind or hurt your chameleon its good, i personally like the tube as i feel the light isnt just concentrated to one part of...
i get my crickets from a local store for 5 cents each and I'm a regular and i often get more then i asked for "on accident" i also buy their little "cricket card" which makes it so you only pay a dollar in tax instead of each time.
i opened this page around a year ago, and i finished the cage from like 2 months after but the cage sat in my garage since and only now did i start finishing it.

this is driving me crazy i cant get a picture, but it has shrunken a lot since last time but still looks "hydrated" could it have been like a inflammation of his vent or somthing? it now popps in and out depending on what he's doing.
it looks like a grayish-white lip thats round that sticks out...
are you sure the day geckos wont try to eat the mantellas their pretty small?
would be really cool if you could pull it off.
edit: i looked at the sponsors page and it can come with an airline hose what I'm guessing it can be hydroponic planter? I also noticed the netty pots
you can save money by building your own screen cages, buying fixtures from other places besides pet stores, the expensive stuff is the UV lighting and the interior items, i got my Veiled at a pet store for 40$, make sure they look healthy (green, alert, moving around, eyes open, not sleeping)...
chameleons wont let themselfs starve to death, it would take alot longer then a couple days, they do become to a point where they can't eat because they have no energy but as long as he's drinking water just keep trying to give him food dont try to force feed him.
bump, i think the budge sticking out was a prolapse as my friend told me even a pale bulge was still a prolapse, i massaged it back in and it hasn't reappeared,
if by chance it does can a vet put a suture on this guy, as he's pretty small?
Best wishes i bet he'll be hungry tomorrow (also make sure he's drinking as my cham got dehydrated and stopped eating for close to 2 weeks), you shouldn't be discouraged since your husbandry is great and you have the passion.
Its hard to exlain the vent itself is dark where it V's but im positive the bulge that sticks out is white.
no their pretty brutal like that. they'll let it die then tell me i should have never saved my money for it.
since i burned through my summer job money im pretty much broke.
