Ok I've been tryin to design enclosures for my work for some time now. The ones i did build they love and people seem to like them too. But i was wondering what is it exactly that you guys all look for in a cage?? things i've been trying are a fresh-air scren type enclosure but also is planted...
Ok im soo glad someone posted this cuz surprisingly im having the same problem! not in the same spot though. I have a 4-5 month old nosy be and i got him when he was about 2 months. And after i got him i noticed a bump in the corner of his eye. It wasnt bothering him he was eating and drinking...
Ummm i could be wrong this is just a guess but i dunno from the picture he looks like he could be like 10 months and up.my veiled isnt much bigger than that lenght wise but he's really fat haha. but then again im not sure how old he is either.
Hmmmm the splotches sound like a breeding coloration or somthing like that. And she's not eating...i dunno and the not shedding part. Is she dehyrated? or really thin?? i would try to get her more sunlight and try to increase the temp of your viv a couple of degrees just incase its some kind of bug
Yah i've tried the no cage deal its ok the only problem is that you cant control alot of things. Food you can and heat but not as much humidity or moisture is hard to keep up. Either or is ok
Ok so you know how most people should eat around 2,000 calories a day. Well does anyone have an idea of site that has done somthing like this for chams haha. Im trying to put together a diet plan for my chams thats very planned. I figure i can better see what they are taking in and hopefully...
WOW jeweled i am impressed. ok well thanks for all the imput everybody. I still think i might just stick to the fruit but i was jus trying to think outside the box haha. but i may also try the kosher gelatin idea.
Im sure most of you have seen the charts and what not but i just saw that a cricket has 345 ppm of calcium. which i know isn't alot but still bugs have calcium in them. And theyre diets can only improve the calcium they already have.
ok i have Retolife for a vitamin and Reptocal w/ D3. soo i have a vitamin and a mineral?? what exactly do you use for minerals and the cal powder i can take care of. thanks for the help so far.
Ok a couple of questions. Does anyone know a site where you can see the nutritional values of crickets if there even is a site like that. Also i dust with calcium once or twice a week with stuff that does have d3 is that not good and do you really have to dust with jus pure calcium so often...
Yah i think i might try it tonight...Im jus worried about all the stuff in it maybe it could be bad for the chams but im not sure because i would think if it were bad i would see the crix die b4.
haha well i was looking through my oantry and what do you know sugar-free jello. And i looked and its much better nutritonal. Only 10 calories, no sugar ( obviously) no fat, no carbs, 65 mg of sodium though and 1 g of protein. I dunno and thoughts.
Yah i didnt look at the back of it haha that is quite a bit of sugar.Yah i use apples, carrots and lettuce. Just throwin it out there haha. Maybe if there was a no sugar jello maybe who knows?
OOOOKkkk this is kind of a stretch and i jus thought about it but lately i've had alot of crix dying. I think its cuz they arent getting alot of water. And the fruit just rots away and smells and the gel stuff is kind of expensive for the amount you get. So here's my idea...Jello. Its like the...
Hey i built a rehydratin thing for cases like this or if i even think there might be a chnace of my cham being dehydrated. I took a 55 you could use smaller like a 10 and put wire mesh on the bottom propped up as a safety net. I bought a cheap pump and used a fish heater plumped it so the water...
Well i mean it kind of make sense. The largest Oustalet's ever seen was 36 inches long!! i think thats big enought to eat small birds and what not. And parsons and Mellers arent that far behind the Oustalets.
So is all agreed that i should stop using the fish flakes. Its like a veggie one...i thought that would be ok and it even has D3 in it. but i dunno i'll guess ill stop if its gonna hurt em.
I know that in the wild larger species like oustalets, meller's and parson's eat small rodents and even small birds!! so i dunno panthers not sure if i would feed em that if anything mayyyybbbbeee just a really small baby mouse like once every like 4 months.
i use fish food flakes for gut loading but i use veggie falkes which i think may be lower in peotien than normal it also had some other fats and pigments and stuff that i think may help chams development. I dunno i havent run into any problems with it. No gout or any excess vitman issues i...
