I appreciate the info! I've kept T. j. xantholophus and Trioceros hoehnelli before. I'll take all the info I can get. Thank you!
You said that you're basing this off of the spines along the back and their tail bases - is there a webpage I can go to learn this skill myself?
He had more in the cage... I just bought what I have the facilities for. He said someone had babies that morning and I grabbed the female I expected had them so she could recover with me. He kept the babies, unfortunately. I've had her on the Mazuri diet. I want to get them all tested for...
This male I think is Trioceros jacksonii xantholophus. I'm not sure what size he should be. I took him to the vet (he was just skin and bones at 37 grams) and she put him on the Mazrui diet along with typical feeders.
So I bought a few chams week and a half ago (from a guy on craigslist that kept them altogether in a cage, ugh) and I'm trying to determine subspecies. I'm thinking she's Trioceros jacksonii merumontanus but would like input. I don't see females with these type horns... and I thought it was too...
A few years ago I stumbled upon a site that allowed you to search your area for exotic vets... and I lost the site. Does anyone know of a website where I can type in my location and a list (no matter how short it may be) shows me where I can go for a vet?
I have a vet... but I'm a Jackson's/...
It's a female jumbo jackson - with babies. I feel like the babies complicate things. Are these treatments safe for them? (She's almost 5 months.)
Also, her eating has slowed down.
I'm sure he would go wherever even if it's not his preferred spot. I'm about to have a cham sitter for me for a trip and they won't be roaming while I'm away.
I vote hoehnelii! But that's just because they are quite possibly my favorite. They have basically the same care as a Jackson's so their husbandry is a tad more known than some others. But honestly, it's a lot of unexplored territory.
I have a Jackson's that tends to go in the same spot in his cage.
I have a different Jackson's AND a helmeted that tend to go whenever they are free roaming. I just figured it loosens what needs to be loosened. Who knows
