I don't think that Kinyonga meant other reptiles, he meant other chameleons, other than the veiled chameleons.
And I am kind of curious as to where you are getting this reference from as well.
Well... I've been watching her real closely the past few days... She seems to be doing fine now. I did go to the pet store that I usually go to to get her more crickets but they are waiting for a new shipment of the crickets that we need, so instead we got her some butter worms... she gobbled...
Yes she is sticking her tongue out fairly far and she is moving her head from side to side... the first time I seen it it freaked me right out.
Does this give you any idea as to what the prognosis might be?
I still think that maybe the crickets are too big, Im going to buy smaller ones...
Thanks Jordan, that link was very helpful indeed... Im pretty sure that it has to do with the crickets that Im feeding her, I think that there's a possibility that they are too big, the only thing that gets me is she's been eating this size for about 2 weeks now with no problems until now. I...
she has a uv light, and it's not going through glass or plastic, I don't think that has anything to do with the problem, I just woke up and noticed that she's doing it again. Her color is normal and she looks fine again. She didn't eat yesterday but I left some crickets in her cage last night...
I took phoenix worms and placed them up my arm, she noticed them right away and climbed up my arm to eat them, it's the only way she'll come out though unfortunately, but it's good enough for me. I make sure that I put my hand near her daily so she remembers who I am.
how big do they have to be to eat big crickets? My Lola is about 2 months old aproximately and I've been feeding her big crickets, she's been eating them fine, she actually really seems to like them, but if they are too big, I will switch, how big should they be and how many should I be giving...
I've had my chameleon for about a month now, she's been doing well and adapting fine, but today I looked into her cage and she was heaving, and at first I had no idea what was going on, and then she threw up a little tiny bit of clear jelly liquid... I've been keeping a close eye on her and she...
Thanks for all the useful information, I really enjoy this forum, everytime I have a question, it is always answered promptly, and I am learning about my chameleon very quickly.
Cheers.
Here's an interesting question, how smart are chameleons? can you teach them things or perhaps teach them their names? I find myself talking to mine alot... does she think Im crazy?
I am planting my own hibiscus plants from seeds, is any kind of hibiscus ok? the type that I picked up is called "red shield hibiscus" just making sure before I waste my time growing it.
so... Im thinking about breeding crickets... I have no idea where to start, so here are some questions...
what kind of environment do I need and what are things that I keep in their environment?
Can you tell between the males and females easily?
How hard is this to do?
Anything else...
While were on this topic... what colors do they show for any kind of warning signs... are there specific colors that mean specific things? I notice that mine changes colors often and sometimes I notice she get's very dark markings on her and I just want to make sure that it doesn't mean anything...
awww... she's beautiful, I as well got a veiled chameleon for Christmas, I named her Lola, my profile picture is the only pic I got but I'll post more as soon as I can. Welcome to the forums.

Can they bite you? as odd of a question as this might seem to be, I have seen my chameleon eat lots of crickets and worms, but not once have I seen teeth... if not then what is it that they use in defence?
