Yes he does drink. I am starting to think that he could be constipated from eating too many super worms. These were his favourite. Ok, so if he is constipated how do I fix it or is it best to just take him to a vet?
Can anyone tell me if there is something wrong with my setup as described above? I know that I need to measure the humidity but is there anything else wrong?
How long can chameleons go for without eating? I know that species, sex and age make a difference and I know that their metabolism slows down in winter but at what point should you be concerned if your cham is not eating? One week, two?
My veiled will not eat anything thats not moving or...
While I was changing my UVB light yesterday, I noticed that the old one is a 10.0 and its a short tube around 45cm. The new one is much longer and its a 5.0 - is the only difference that the 10.0 can emit UVB light much further than the 5.0? Or is there something else that I should know? Can too...
So there is an update to this story.
My veiled has been given intra boost which is basically the same as Reptaid. It restores their internal balance and helps to increase appetite. Let's hope this makes a difference.
I have also found a local exotic vet and am waiting to hear back from her...

Hi all,
I need to ask for advice from all members regarding my Veiled chameleon. I have completed the "How to ask for help" sticky below:
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Veiled, male, approx 1yr 8 mths old. He has been in my care since May 18, 2011 (almost one year).
Handling - Rarely...
Hi, please could anyone advise me as to deworming a veiled Cham. Do they get dewormed and how often. Could parasites cause vomiting (which has only happened once).
I have a veiled cham 1 year 5 months old. Everything has been fine so far but he has now not eaten for a couple of days and...
So, as promised, here is a pic of the little guy. Couldn't take too many as he does not like the camera (who does?) and each time I approached he would swing underneath the branch he was perched on so I couldn't see him. Clever fella!
Just to let you all know that my baby is doing well. Eating, drinking, pooping and climbing all over the container. He is the cutest little lizard I have ever seen! Will post a pic soon.
Thanks Jann! I have already read your post about babies and according to that, I am doing everything right. Its just because he is so small and fragile that I am so nervous. Is it normal practice for a breeder to sell babies so young/small? I would hate for him to become stressed in his new...
Hi all, I recently picked up a baby panther cham from the breeder and wanted to know if there is anything special I should be doing for him? He is soooo tiny, his body only measures about 3cm in length. I have never raised a baby before and am afraid that I will do something wrong. I thought he...
Hi all, I am going to be taking a 6hr drive to collect a baby panther cham from the breeder and wanted to know what sort of container would be suitable to transport him in. He is only 8 weeks old so still a baby. Also, I thought that it would be better for me to drive up in the afternoon and...
Ha ha Laurie!!! I could send him to you but that would take all my enjoyment away. Plus I am on the other side of the world being in Durban, South Africa.
My veiled was around 7mths which is what the pet store told me so hopefully they are correct. I saw another veiled in a different pet store and they told me he was almost 2 years old which I found interesting cos my boy was much bigger than him at only 9mths??? Anyway, since I got my veiled as a...
Hi everyone, I am getting a baby panther chameleon next month and would like to know if anyone has advice regarding the correct husbandry of this type of cham? I already own a veiled who has just turned 1 year and need to find out if the setup and care would be similar or the same for the...
Wow, Olimpia, that is a stunning setup!! Your cham must be in heaven! It has def given me a couple new ideas. And since chams love height, I will also use/make a table with a cage attached to the top part. This way I can clean underneath the enclosure with ease. How did you attach the plastic...
