These last 8 eggs were not in the incubator except for the last few weeks. These eggs were in a margarine container kept at appox. room temperature. However much of the time this container was on top of a smaller reptile cage so may have been a few degrees warmer ... so say daytime from 20-25...
Remaining Babies Hatched !!
Well ... the final 8 eggs that were NOT originally in the incubator started hatching on Saturday and the last one hatched this morning.
That makes 26 healthy babies in all. Here's a few updated pics and vids of the newcomers.
Sorry about the...
Man I wish I could freerange my old gaffer. He's got to be close to 6 yrs by now. He's the one that actually seems to be potty trained. He always goes down to the same pot to do his business and then climbs back up again. Too bad we couldn't train them all to do that. ;)
BTW - He's the...
Hey Roguekiller ... I used exactly what you're describing to hatch my veileds. See this thread https://www.chameleonforums.com/veiled-chameleon-not-laying-6156/ ... and post #31 for pics and post #55 for description.
I didn't have any problems with my eggs rotting but then I think it's...
Maybe you should just play some Barry White for them!! ;)
I'm not sure about panthers but with veileds you sometimes have to introduce them a few times several weeks apart. The males never seem to have a problem but the females sometimes do. ( So basically like humans!! LMAO )...
I have recent veiled babies as well. They sometimes close their eyes in the middle of the day ... I think they're just napping and content. :) That basking temp may be a little warm for a young veiled though. I believe that low to mid 80's is enough until he's a few months old. Perhaps...
Silkies are soft and pliable and a good source of calcium. Usually you can get smaller ones or just buy some silkworm eggs and hatch your own. As far as I know there are no issues with feeding small silkworms.

Hey all ... I did a search on the forum but couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for. I want to know how long to wait to safely breed my female veileds again. I've heard anywhere from 2 months to 1 year from various sources.
One female laid eggs at the beginning of last October and...
Hey ... nice pics!! Your young veileds are showing some awesome colours. Mine only get like that when they're pissed off !! LOL
Hope to see more pics as they grow!!

DIY Incubator & Hatchrite
My DIY incubator was really easy to make. My Veiled eggs that were in it hatched out in 6-1/2 months. Check it out here .... (post #55) ... https://www.chameleonforums.com/veiled-chameleon-not-laying-6156/index2.html
( There are pics of the incubator in post #31 on...
I like this idea as well !! I have a few cool pics of some of my other reptiles that I'd like to share. Perhaps the winner could receive a REP point or something!! LOLOL

I've read before that you have a bit of time where rotation doesn't matter but after you've set the eggs up in their hatching substrate they settle in to that position and should not be rotated.
I tried using a thin marker once but it wouldn't mark on the egg. I suppose a felt-tipped pen...
Nice pics Julie. I like your variation of cham species. I wouldn't mind getting a few more but space and $$$ prevent me from doing so at the moment.

My Veileds all eat strawberries and grapes. I just stick little pieces on branches and the try to get them with their tongue or just pull them off with their mouths. Some days they are fussier than others. Every once in a while I will give them fruit instead of insects so that if they're...
Hey Kat .... Just click on the part above that says 'Veiled Chameleon not laying eggs' and it should take you right to that thread .... it just worked for me. Then you have to scroll down to POST #55 ( Number at Upper-Right of each post ) and that's where it explains how I made it.
Let me...
Well perhaps that's the difference ... the incubator part. Mine started hatching at 6 months 18 days. ( Actually ... perhaps a couple of days earlier since I hadn't checked in a few days.) My DIY incubator was really easy to make. Check it out here .... (post...
