like breeze said the temp for a veiled at that age is low 80's and if you can hang your dome light from the ceiling you can raise/lower it to get proper temps.
Don't forget to put them in the mood, maybe a nice gourmet dinner of horn and super worm pate followed by a dubia truffle. Dim the lights down low and throw on some Barry White for them to get down to. Oh ya and pics, forum members love pics hahaha
Most f veileds will not develop eggs until they at least get their adult colouring (orange splotches/blue dots) but at 5 months it can't hurt to provide a laying bin in her enclosure. This bin should be approx 12'' deep x 10'' square and I personally use a 50/50 mix of sand and topsoil kept...
Like Hoj said, pothos are awesome because they are so easy and grow really good, they are kind of vine like so you can place the 'branches' wherever you like. Hibiscus' are great because they have nice flowers that some veileds like to munch on but they require alot of sunlight to thrive and...
thanks for letting us know that they do well eating dandelion and kale, Ive been feeding mine romaine this winter (which they dont thrive on) because all the blackberry plants and rose bushes are frozen.
I can help u out with indian stick bugs. They require 1. fairly tall enclosure (min 12'', doesnt need to be big around) 2. they eat... bramble (blackberry, raspberry leaves) is the best and makes a good gutload as well, rose leaves, privot (not a good gutload at all) and romaine...
once the bug is an adult (approx. 4 to 5 inches long) and is done its final moult it will lay a few eggs everyday until it dies, the eggs can be left at room temp and misted once in a while (adults should be misted daily as well) , they can take up to a year to hatch. I started with four 1...
thats awesome Ashleigh. Is he from the same breeders as Mia? I can't wait to see some pics. You are starting to get a nice size family of critters lol.
If it is an indian stick bug and you would like to feed it off feed it bramble (blackberry/raspberry leaves) for a week or so first to get rid of anything bad it may have consumed. It is true that wc insects can have parasites but regular fecals are a good idea if feeding wc insects. I feed...
I've read that some are poisoness but Im not sure, the indian walking sticks are good feeders but it sounds like you may have a native type since you found it in the wild. Where are you located? maybe google your geographic location and stick bugs and see if you can identify it before you feed...
I've heard that zoomed reptisun's are good for approx. 9 months whereas exo terra reptiglo's are good for approx 6 months but I don't have a meter or else I would test it.
I use two 27watt cfls (6500k) in a double hood for the plants in my f veileds enclosure. I got them at Canadian Tire but pretty much any hardware store carries them. They work great at keeping the top half of my hibiscus growing and flowering but the light isnt bright/strong enough to reach the...
that doesn't make you a horrible cham mom, it makes you an amazing cham mom. It was a freak accident and you have been nursing your lil cham back to health through patience and determination when some people would just give up. You are doing a great job from the sound of it
lmao me too, she ate about 6 in total in the last 4 months. I want to keep them going in case I get another cham/creature that will eat them. Maybe the local pet store will buy some.
I looked into it a while back and found a few companies although I never ended up using them so I cannot really give my opinion on them. I believe they were www.feederfactory.ca and canadianfeeders.ca I may have those wrong but you can try them. One of them is based out of Windsor and I...
