Very nice mate. He looks really laid back. Is he CB?
I have been thinking of getting a pair myself. If i do i would also keep them individually, in 45x45x60cm exo terras.
What you housing him in atm?
What species are we talking about? I'd be surprised if it was cold, unless your thermometer is well out.
A panther would be fine at those night time temps & i have kept them a little lower, with no problems. And kept Yemens into the low 40'sf at night, with no problems.
Very very true Mike & much the same when keeping fish too. Choose a species that likes your type of water. Makes like much easier. :D
Wish you the best of luck with them jeanpierre. Keep us updated.
Yeah agree he looks better. Good luck with him... hope he makes it.
Something must be keeping him going after fifty two hours. Is he drinking do you know?
Could it have been the runt of the litter? Can you find any info out from the breeder?
I have a very small male T. hoehnelli. He & a tiny female were the last to be born of the litter & he is literally half the size of the others. The female was even smaller. I'm afraid my little fella is...
Not kept that species before, so can't give any help based on experience. But what i would say is, firstly check your temps & humidity. Those gauges are notoriously inaccurate. Ive had two or three of exactly the same type, side by side. They have been reading by as much as five degrees between...
When i used to free range my panther i used a mercury vapour bulb. 150W Zoomed powersun or a megaray.
Mine also had access back into enclosure if he wanted... Never did though. Always had to put him back.:D
Your basking temp, if accurate, is a little on the warm side. Mid eighties max ideally. Whats your ambient temps & what low night time temps does she have?
Try (if you haven't already) misting/spaying (lightly) through the mesh roof, letting the drops drip down onto her. As opposed to spraying...
Looks like she could be holding eggs. Worth setting up a laying bin & putting her in, see what happens. Is she drinking & eating ok?
Good luck with her.
Ha ha!! She liked her food then? :D She is lovely. I love the way the females seem to be so gentle & demure, especially i find with the montane species.
What happend to her, did you move her on? Did she successfully breed do you know? Did you have a male as well?
I'm on the look out myself for...
Looks great.
But long term waterproofing of the wood is going to need some thought. Even if water isn't in direct contact with the wood. High humidity will eventually cause problems. Unfortunately the two just don't mix, unless you can fully waterproof the timber. Even then you can still get...
Feed her as much as she will eat while she is young & still growing. If you find uneaten insects in the enclosure the next day. Remove them & miss a feed for a day.
Also try to vary her diet, otherwise she will likely become bored with the same prey all the time.
