for a veiled :) we have had iguana's and geckos and snakes in the past always wanted a chammy and now we can :)
the detector is like a glow in the dark ball but when UV rays are present it goes different shades of purple the pet centre said they use them and all good and only cost me £1.99...
i have a 5.0 also picked up a cheap uv detector which turns purple, and the light is on the outside and the detector is ever so slightly light purple on the ground will that be ok ????
got few more bits to today digi themo and humidity meter some more plants all i really need now is to monitor...
i dont know much about plants/trees and im looking at setting up a enclosure for a veiled/yemem i have a lovely big OAK tree outside of my house and was wondering (if i sterilized it) would it be ok to use in a cham viv ? cheers :)

off to my local pet centre today (purple pet centre) looking for fitting to house a 5.0 linear just wondering if there are any makes of fitting that are better than another ??? or doesnt matter ? its the bulb that matters ??
is a hood with a built in one ok ? or shouldn't i get to due to lack...
just been reading up on drainage and how are you ment to get any drainage on the exo terra viv's ??? mine has a glass bottom :( ?
i also understand some substrate cant be used due to swallowing and stomach problems , so i was wondering if i could use lilo ? the stuff used on kitchen floors ...

im sure in the future we will have more chamies we have had snakes lizards in the past and moved around to much to keep them a little gecko is comming next week for my daughter as she is in love with reptiles too...
looks like im going to get a 5.0 linear to be safe , i guess with to much uv they can get deformities as with the lack of uv.

i just got a 10 uvb coil from a friend and it blinded me lol i was wondering today at work if any one knows if there is a calculation for distance and uv rays ? im looking to build a 6ft (72") tall enclosure and was wondering will the cham still get the same effect of uv from being farther away...
Hi were new to this forum (which is a great forum btw) we have started plans on building an enclosure for a cham and was wondering if anyone knows where to get a good nylon mesh like the mesh used in shop brought enclosures.
