    Calcium in natural habitat?

Hmmm... what about the other side of the spectrum? Pygmies surely don't eat anything with bones, right? Their "range" of insects it's also much narrower than other chams and they don't eat vegetables or plants either... Do they have less need for calcium? Or their bodies are "tuned" to take the...

Still no clean solution to this...

Hi all! Been a proud chameleon owner for one month now and still haven't found a "clean" way to feed them crics! Damn buggers jump, run, I always end up shaking them from some pieces of cardboard into the enclosure (and one or two of them jump to my lap!!), and when I have to dust them...

    bad tempered male?

When I arrived home, he was in the center of the enclosure, kinda dominating the space and the female at one bottom corner. They seem to comunicate through color and movements and specially by infalting and bending the body... hope he doesn't get rough on her! I added a plastic plant...

    bad tempered male?

Hi! I had (up until an hour ago) a single 4 moths old female pygmy cham in a 60X60X40 cm enclosure (the biggest from exoterra) and just added a male to the mix. The male is an year old and the size diference is like 4cm to 7cm. After I put the male in, he started "swelling in and out"...

    Bulging eye

Hi all! I have a 4 months old female pygmy cham and sometimes it look like one of her eye bulges a little. It seems bigger than the other, but a few minutes later it turns back to normal... everything else about the eyes seems normal, movement, coloration, size... Is this normal? Thnx!

Is it okay to add a male?

Hi all! I have a exo terra enclosure (60cmx45cmx60cm) with a 4cm almost 4 months old female pygmy cham. Is it okay to add a 1 year old male to the setup (with maybe 6/7 cm)? Or should I wait?... My problem is that poygmies are not that easy to find in Portugal, and I'm afraid that one gets...

Any idea what the scientific name is for these?

Hmmm Should I try this alphitobius with my young (4 months) Brev?... Can I also feed the "bug" or just the worm? Thanks!

    Pigmy enclosure...?

I went in a hurry yesterday to a petshop and bought some silicone! A let it dry for a day and, for now at least, it seems that the problem is solved... I also cut a little of the foam board so now my cham has space to eat those buggers at will... I'll try to post some pics soon. :)

Congrats! (I sure hope that when the time comes my Brev won't make me freak out like you!)

    Pigmy enclosure...?

And if I, later on, find out that it's not working, can I easily remove the silicon without damaging the glass?

    Pigmy enclosure...?

Hi all! Quick question: Can I dispose the foam background of those glass terrarium without my pigmy cham losing "life quality"? The issue is that those damn pinhead crics get in the cracks between the foam background and the glass and stay there hidden! I have like 20 rogues in the...

Looking for the right kinda cham...

I'm no expert but I believe Rudis are very heat sensitive... Why don't you try Pigmies? They're more resistant and less demanding than Rudis, they're small, social... they're a little dull in terms of color, but you said you didn't mind that. My 2 cents.

    another one about crickets...

Yep. I put the food in the open. Maybe when I'm not there, the crics will come out and my cham will hunt them...

    another one about crickets...

Hi all! I have an (almost!) 4 months old pigmy cham and I use pinhead crickets as staple food. I've notice that, an hour or so after I release them in the enclosure they tend to hide in the substrate or in vegetation and branches and lay low. I believe crics are noctivagous (sp) and cham...

How do I keep crickets from escaping?

Hi all! I have a small brev in a large glass terrarium (60cmX60cmX45cm). My cham is still very young and she likes to eat her crickets while they're free... I feed her pinhead crickets, and the problem is that they start climbing the foam background wall and hide themselves in the top...
