i second this lol, i started with a panther, but every time i see veiled on here i want one of those too :P well i guess after my next panther im getting in the summer its a veiled! haha
CONGRATS! go nosy bes!! Im going to get my little girl a boyfriend when im done school for the summer :D its a long time to wait, its so hard not to buy one right now. My parents would kill me if i did haha
texas panther man summed it up lol Just make sure that he gets his supplements and that you are misting the cage because they do drink water off the leaves and need the humidity. The lights should be on for 12 hours then off for 12 hours, i think theres some leeway with what you choose in hours...
my nosy be is a scardy cat haha. as soon as i open the cage door, she watches my every move, and if my hand starts to go into the cage she starts walking away :P especially when its coming towards her. hopefully she wont be as scared once she gets a little bigger.
after being in a larger enclosure, and then moved into a smaller one, id think that they would feel a little cramped and move around trying to find a way out. especially chameleons who were free ranged.
You could always put your feeders in after you mist so that the supplements dont get washed off. Or you could try cup feeding. I free range my crickets but cup feed my dubias. So if my little girl is lazy and doesnt want to hunt down crickets she can have some dubias lol but she usually goes...
my nosy be eats at least 10 3/8-1/2 in crickets a day and a couple of dubias too haha but the only thing is that she doesnt look like shes gaining any weight at all XD shes a slow grower
usually if their skin is wrinkled they are getting ready to shed very soon, do you see her stretching at all? does her colour seem to be faded out a bit?
Probably to get warm :P My little girl has actually just started to do that recently, but she knows its too hot right under it, i watch her and she climbs close to the middle then she tries to back up as fast as possible. but she still stays around the light. It may be that she just needs...
my little girl whose almost 5 months old now eats alot haha at least 10 crickets and probably a couple of dubias a day, as soon as i put them in the cage around 10am she will chase after all of them haha. Ive heard that chameleons might eat substrate because they arent getting enough...
yeah either small silkworms or small hornworms. I just left mine on a branch or hand fed my cham, sometimes she didnt want to take it off my hand so i put it down and as soon as i closed the cage door she eats it lol
lol and the best thing about chameleons is that you usually wont just get one clutch from your female since they can retain sperm so you could have alot more babies! :P
They usually dont start colouring up until 4 months, but you will see more colour coming in after every shed. You should definetly take pics after each shed and then compare their colouration as time goes on :D
your guess is as good as ours lol. Well at least you have it narrowed down to 2 locals. Breed her with a nosy be and see what happens lol, if the babies arent all blue then she might be ambilobe :P but you never know, great looking female though :D
