Once you get everything set in place, tell us what your basking temperature is. I do not think the 50w will cause problems if it is on the screen. It depends what temperature readings you get.

Yes, it will work. I got the coconut husk and play sand from a local nursery. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find it at Lowes or Home Depot though.

Same here. Both my crickets and roaches are feed the same diced veggies and fruits.
