Haha, my panther has started to do the same! He use to accept both crickets and superworms from cups but now he will only accept superworms from my hands and cups. The crickets he does not accept from my hands or a cup. He loves to hunt them around his cage though.
My panther has been resisting crickets lately. Today I tried to feed him a dubia and he refused to go for it also. He's strictly only going for superworms and phoenix worms now. I have no idea why the sudden hate for crickets...he was eating 10-12 a day prior to this. Now I'm lucky if he'll eat...
Chameleons tend to love Katydids. Green is a color chameleons can't seem to resist. Yes, they are healthy to feed your cham. Wish I could find them around me.
If fed too many superworms they can be hard on a chameleons digestive system. You are better off giving them to your cham occasionally rather than in excess. I give my cham 2 supers a day along with his dubias and crickets as staples and he does great with that. 6-12 superworms a day would be...
Only feeding a cham 4 days out of the week would mean that the cham would not eat approximately 12 days out of one month. This is ok if the cham is an adult or approaching adulthood as they tend to eat less and can go much longer without eating with no problem.
At 5 months I would still feed...
Wow, that is a great price! I may check out my Wal-Mart to see if they have any crickets for sale. Would be great to hatch out some pin heads for my baby panther with.
Great tub idea. I'm from Florida myself and would be interested in picking up some banana roaches if you ever decide to sell some in the future. I think I may have seen some baby banana roach nymphs outside in my back yard before. They love to burrow under plant pots.
I was going to suggest Pet Bazaar as well here in Casselberry. They have a vast variety of reptiles for sale and are very informative as well. Definitely far from your pet store like Petco or Petsmart.
Definitely looks like a nosy mitsio to me. I would not say he is a cross simply because he is not showing the red eye turrets. Give him time for his full coloration to come through. He is beautiful by the way. He also looks very healthy.
Depends on the age of the chameleon. For a baby chameleon the shed can be over in a couple of hours if the chameleon is approaching adulthood in may in fact take a week or longer. Make sure to increase misting during this time as it will help with the shedding process.
The Walking Dead on AMC. Can't wait for the show to start in October. Been anticipating it for a while since I heard they were going to continue the series with a second season.
