I got my cham when she was a baby and she was the ONLY one that hissed and threw a hissy fit when she was picked out of all the other babies( got her at a pet store unfortunately). She is still like that almost 9 months later. But she will hand feed willingly and she has climbed on me a few...
Get a stick and put it near him and wait till he goes on it. Or if you have to get him out for cleaning purposes put it under his belly and lift gently, he will get the memo. i wouldnt touch him if he is not tame tho for concern of being bitten lol.
My first chameleon walked around like that with his eyes closed. Due to faulty advice from the petstore he had given me a damaging light that caused that and I was not aware that the light was wrong for the chameleon. It only took one day for the cham to get like that too. Get him to the vet...
Mmm I recently purchased a new beardie and for a checkup that included a fecal and a culture, it cost $169. And they actually took money off of that too. Idk if u can get insurance for reptiles but if u can that would help a lot. Cuz that killed my wallet pretty bad..
My PM system seems to not work properly sometimes, prior to when i spoke to you none of the PMS I sent went through (or they were just ignored =( ). I suppose i try and pm her though.
My dam worms keep dying ffs.... Idk why I change the food every day and i just keep finding dead worms. I stopped feeding large #s of them to my lizards when there were 30 or so left. Kept getting casualties and now theres i think 7 left.. 4 of them died between last night and today alone... idk...
I've fed both hornworms ( not full sized) and superworms to my cham and she has had no problems with either of them as far as them attempting to bite her. She actually tore a hornworm in half with her tongue! Then she ate the remaining half. Probably the craziest thing I've seen feeding a lizard.
Also I am surprised nobody said this but mealworms run a risk of impaction, and feeding them frequently to a chameleon of that size could lead to other problems down the road. So you may wanna cut down on the mealworms to every several feedings or something instead of every time. You should be...
Mine still hates me, though she will put that aside for a moment when I feed her. I think maybe perhaps the size difference also has something to do with the price difference? Keeping a larger animal pretty much always requires more room set aside.
Funny this topic was made, I actually came across a mantis last night for the first time in about 10 years as i was coming home. It was brown though, and way too large for my chameleon..
I have actually found that the large pet store chains like petco/petland petsmart in my area dont sell chameleons any more because they are hard to take care of compared to say a bearded dragon. They have easier species to take care of such as beardies/leopard geckos and anoles. That and what...
I've always wondered this seeing those tiny corn snakes at the pet store, that couldn't possibly eat a pinky. Can they eat anything else when they are that small?
My parents refuse to let me get any type of roach, and superworms well id have to order those too i think and they aren't as healthy a choice as silkies are.
I ordered 100+ silkworms i think it was two weeks ago, and most of them have gotten very large since then or have been eaten by one of my lizards. How many of these should I spare to become moths to lay eggs? Also is it possible to sex these things by any chance, when they are both moths and...
When I just had the chameleon, around 40 small crickets so figure 4 a week= 12$ a month. That's increased due to having two beardies now. I'd say about 50 a month? Though this month i had to get silkworms and their food and when it was all said and done, cost me 56$ right there..
Get some calcium without D3, that is the calcium that they need to have most frequently. Calcium with d3 only two times a month, and a multivitamin once a month. Try putting him the shower if you think he needs to go to the bathroom, but he probably needs a vet.
