It's come to my attention that several non-native chameleons now reside in Florida (when I say now, I don't mean it's recent, just that I recently learned it) including Veileds, Jacksons, and Oustaleti.
I'm just curious what - if anything - people know about these species. Specifically the...
I'm looking for a group of small ground skinks. They're common in southern US, found in forest and damp/decaying areas. Beneath leaves and rocks about the size of redback salamanders.

Please PM me if you can collect some. I'm interested in 10-15.
For the love of God don't quote the entire OP. You just doubled the size of the thread needlessly.
Thanks for the post. That's awesome. I appreciate your sense of making something so big for so little money.
So we all talk about bee pollen and its benefits and all that good stuff, but what about actually pulling some bees in? It's summer time finally here in NY [or at least the sun says so] and I think my melleri would enjoy some wild caught bugs.
Is the bee pollen pellets/powder I get from...
It's going to die. It has the stench of humans on it so the mother isn't going to care for it anymore. Unless you want to start regurgitating food, just put it out of its misery. The animal shelter won't be able to do anything.
I lied - I don't have any pictures of the parents. He doesn't seem to be interested in the baby B lateralis so I started feeding him termites. Still growing strong.
Wouldn't it be much easier getting a mini fridge college kids use, punching a hole in the side and running the air from that to side of the cage? You can set those to 40 or 50 degrees Fahrenheit, I believe. If you had a 90 degree room, that would balance out to 65-70 for at least a few inches of...
Given the thinness of the tail and legs to where you can see the individual bones, I would echo the above post and say the animal is beyond the point of no-return. It's probably not going to open its eyes again unless you can hydrate it substantially.
But, if you've got the fortitude for it...
Nice work Niels! Could we get an overall shot of the tank? Yours is the first tank I've seen that seems to encapsulate the natural look of the pygmy chameleons' habitat.
I just had my first egg hatch. I haven't cared for gecko babies in several years, and I can't remember the timing after the first shed when the babies are supposed to eat. I have my little guy in a small deli cup with paper towel/sticks for now.
I'm pretty sure they're supposed to eat their...
Depending on the material/paint used, the water getting into it is likely not a big deal. But if you're concerned enough about it, you could try buying some water proof spray. This would cause the water to roll off of it and collect it in the pot.
Anything like silicone to coat it would...
I'm bumping this thread for later when I want to copy the bottle design. I have been using the shallow, white deli cups with failure. I think the green bottle design is perfect.
They're real easy. Rather hardy. Mine go days without water. Then they get a rain for about an hour (dripper) and drink it up once or twice a week.
My large male goes for Blaberus giganteus size roaches.
As for eggs, I have a bunch so I guess I'll know the answer to your last question soon...
I'll second the blue bottle flies. Problem is they're tiny and not much nourishment.
Can you guys post pictures of how you actually feed them? I'm trying a feeder cup idea for the lobster/dubia roaches but they don't seem to like to go near it. I end up having to tong feed them and it's...
