    Silk worm project!!

We've noticed that they kind of get a doughnut shape to them.We got new hatchling silkies this morning and its only been about a week since we took them out the fridge. I think its because the last few days it has been very warm. We just sit our eggs on the top of the fridge as it is under a...

We have a batch of worms that are growing at the moment. They are around 1/2" but today we had more eggs hatch out. Our goal is to always have them available, we still have tons of eggs in the refrigerator so hopefully this will will achievable. We never used anything other than a container and...

    Silk worm project!!

We did this last year, got the eggs, hatched them...they do get huge and our Chams loved them up. When they are big and the Chams are eating them....our advise is to stay back as they often burst and its yucky if it hits you lol. We let lots of the worms cocoon. Its amazing. Then after a few...

My Cham is terrified of me!!!

Good Luck When we first got our female Cham she never seemed to like me I felt. She was is a smaller cage seeing as she was young. When she got older we moved her to her "big girl" cage which gives her more room and more importantly it seems, more height. Now when I go near the cage she seems...

    Roaches for this guy!!!!

We also have a small colony of roaches "beetles" lol. Our female Cham loves them. She gobbles them down. The male Cham isnt as excited with them. I like the Roaches tho, they dont smell like the crickets, dont escape and are just less maintenance to be honest. We also breed our own Silkworms and...

    silk worms

Silkworms are awesome, and they are extremely easy to hatch from eggs. Keep them properly fed as little worms, and you will not believe how fast they grow!! :)

Suddenly wont shoot tongue all the way out or possible depth perception issue???

How soon after him waking up did you try and feed him? I know with our Rufus, he needs to warm up for a while before we feed him or his tonuge is the same way. After a little time under the lights, he and his tongue are back to their old selves. I'm not sure this is normal, but it is my...

    flies and gnats?

Have you been feeding repti-worms? The long skinny flies could be black soldier flies (what repti-worms turn in to). If that is what they are, leave them there, chams love them.:)

Why Cant My Cham FIRE UP?

I would just give him time, and let him show off when he wants to. He will show off, I promise he will. :) Mirrors are bad, when he sees himself he is immediately threatened, and therefore stressed. That was a bad piece of advice from the store, imho.

Why Cant My Cham FIRE UP?

I agree, showing him a mirror will do nothing but stress him out. Nothing good can come of that. When he wants to show his colors, he will. :)

    Hunger strike... ALREADY?!

Silkworms are definitely worth a try. Both of ours absolutely love them. We get ours from Mulberry Farms.

Just a picky eater. :) We have a leopard gecko that does the same thing with repti-worms. She will put one in her mouth and then spit it out. lol

    How do I do it?

No, just make sure you sprinkle calcium on them, and they are small. If he is still tiny, fruit flies are a good way to jump-start his appetite. When Rufus was young, he wouldn't eat anything until we dumped some fruit flies in with him. He would munch on some, and then eat whatever else we...
