Has anyone considered putting a 1 way perforated decal on the viewing side of the enclosure glass/screen? You might have seen something similar on a bus as advertising or rear window of a truck/van that allows passengers to see out, but is largely opaque to people on the outside (only in this...
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that, but I was more thinking just putting a cold-pack on top of the enclosure each night and let the cooling air drop down inside (just to test, I don't have him yet)
Ok. The reason I'm concerned is that this is the same temp as the lower end of the daytime gradient, and I want to ensure he gets his nightly cooling down period. Should I work on increasing the daytime low-end instead maybe?
It depends on where your leak is, but there are a number of fixes you can try. I'm sure you'll hear direct from the Guru before long, but try replacing the o-ring, putting some sealant (vaseline) around any gaps, or using teflon tape in the threaded sections to help seals.

Hello Everyone,
Long time reader first time poster. I'm new to chameleons (have a male CB veiled coming in January) but not to reptiles and like a lot of what I've read on this forum. Everyone seems to be quite helpful and friendly with lots of good info, so I signed up to say a merry hello...
Have you considered purchasing a humidifier for the entire room to help boost the base humidity in your house during winter? They are about $40-60 new at a hardware store, (cheaper used) and will also help keep your house more comfortable for you as well.
