Mine is the one I currently have, he's a male veiled named Cricket. We got him at a pet store, but it was a pretty good pet store. The enclosure he was in was about 7 feet tall, had crickets and mealworms, misting system, good lighting, etc- these people really knew how to take care of...
Hahaha, mine caught a superworm sideways today and had a heck of a time actually getting it into his mouth. He used one of his front legs to kind of help cram it in there, it was cute.
Yeah I never go NEAR mine when he's asleep, except to quietly look at him (sleeping chameleons are adorable.) The one and ONLY time mine has ever bit me was because I accidentally woke him up. I think that none of them are "morning people"!
Males definitely have the spur, plus more pronounced colouring/striping and a bigger casque- although I guess if you've not got another chameleon to compare her (him?) to... I can see why you'd wonder!
I hear that males also tend to be more aggressive and move around more, but again, all cham...
I mentioned this a little in another post but I figured I'd ask again and explain it a little more in-depth.
My chameleon is, for some reason, friendlier than most. He's a male veiled, about 7 months old. He likes to be held and to come out of his cage. I know that's weird, I have another...
He just keeps doing it!
We re-did his lower cage yesterday, put in all new vines, plants, and so on. He was content up on his ceiling hangout the whole time. When we brought him down to check out his new cage, he seemed to love it. Didn't want to go back up to his high spot.
We leave one...
!!!!!
I literally SQUEALED when I saw those... SO CUTE!!! I can't look at ANY kind of baby chameleon without turning into a total mush pile. I mean, I do the same thing with puppies and kittens and stuff, but I'm the only girl I know who will throw a fit over baby lizards... AWWW!!!!
I'm really hoping this is the case ^_^
I should be able to get some pics up soon, the only ones we have so far are on our cellphones, but the Boy is getting a good camera soon, so we should be able to get a ton of pics :)
We wish we could breed him but we just don't have the facilities to...
Well, he doesn't seem to mind his enclosure... and he does this sort of thing even when he's NOT in his enclosure, too, so unless the whole giant setup I have going all the way up to the ceiling is wrong... I don't know if that could be it. We usually just use the cage for when it's time for...
I saw a similarly idiotic thing at PetSmart the other day (which kind of shocked me because I've never really had a problem with them before.)
They had a very LARGE veiled male in a cage, and he was quite big- maybe his size was enhanced by the fact that mine is just a little guy still, but...
Hi everyone!
I'm new. I already posted a thread in the general forum, but I know you need to do an intro post too, so here's mine. My boyfriend and I have a 7 month old male veiled cham, his full name is Mr. Anderson, but we call him Cricket. He's friendly, for some weird reason. (I know...
Hi there. I'm new, by the way :)
My boyfriend and I added Cricket to our home in March of this year. He was about 2 months old at the time, so that would make him 7 months old now. He is a male veiled chameleon.
When we bought him, we did so with the understanding that chameleons aren't...
