If she does like misting why not include a pothos and a drip in her cage. My veiled chameleons like to drink the water of the plants. The drip signals them at there is water there when they want to drink. One of my chameleons will eat his plant with the water on it.
The chameleon could just be really stressed out. I would also add a live pathos plant in the enclosure. The like to eat them and it also increases humidity. Glass cage has to go. Chameleons like a lot of air flow so a mess cage is the best choice. You might want to try a different food...
My male veiled chameleon is shedding constantly. I spray him several times a day trying to increase the humidity. I have female next to him and she has not shed for about a month now. What should I do? I bought shedding assisting spray. I spray him about 4 to 5 times daily with water and...
I have two mature veiled chameleons that I would like to try breeding. I placed her in his cage and she just walk away with no worries. The male turned extremely bright and went after her. He was trying to attach as she walked away and then he started to bite at her. I took her out because I...
veiled chameleon
Yes it is a veiled chameleon. I have add moisture today trying to keep it moist. The temp has stayed between 74-81 degrees the last three weeks. The humid is really good in the area I am keeping them. The eggs have been white these last couple weeks. So I do not know...
I think that I am about to have an egg hatch. It will be 4 months on the 27. The egg began to cave it but I am worried about how long it will take after that. It caved in Sunday night and I do not know what I should begin to worry. I read that it can take a day or so but how long is so. Can...
Mine does a hissing thing to warn me about touching him. But never whisles that I know of. He is a little pissy sometimes. I think he does not like me. The funny part is that he does not like to be held but when my husband holds him he turn bright colors. I have not tried. He lunged at me...
My two cents
Here's the skinny on mealworms. I used to raise these things and they fed on oats, ground up non-colored dog food, and a variety of vegetables/fruits. If you are just buying a pack from the store then they can be refrigerated and do not require additional food. The cold makes...
Just checked. He is bright. That is so weird. He is bright when held even though he looks pissed. Guess it does not bother him as much as he makes it out to be.
Check whole cage. She does not have any plants yet. I just bought them some today. Maybe I am just worrying too much. I will check to see again in a day or two to see if she laid. But not eggs so far. I just wasn't sure if she moved them in her body before she laid and that is why she...
My female was gravid when I bought here. She was about ready to lay again and I placed in a soil/sand mixture for her to lay. Now she does not look gravid. Could anything have happen? I dug through the soil just to check if she laid and found nothing. Her stomach was huge for the last week...
I will have to check. I usually turn their lights off before they go to sleep so that they will know it is night. I will keep a light on tonight and see what he does. I just wanted to know if it was possible. Just trying to take care of his needs. Thank you.
I just had a quick question. My male veiled chameleon becomes lighter when held but makes a hissing sound. I know that means he is upset but should he not become darker under stress. I was not sure if some chameleons turn lighter under stress or if he is just trying to blend better.
I believe there are about 38 eggs left from their mating. The eggs were laid 4-27. Some of of them went to a friend and we lost one. Thanks for all the compliments
Well these are our chameleons. Both are doing well. The female is not eating a whole lot. She's gravid at the moment and had an injured tongue when we got her so she's hand fed. I think it has made her a bit more tame. The male is still all hissy when I enter his cage or move him. here are...
Restaurants for egg cartons
Definitly hit up the restaurants for egg cartons. I go to chinese restaturants and places like waffle house. They use a ton of eggs and they just throw these things away so they give them to me for free. It's a lot better than ordering them and shipping. Check it...
pink?
I will hope and see. I was just worried about them being pink. I just got them so I was not sure. I researched about them before and after I got them. I just want to make sure to take care of them the right way. Are they suppose to be completely white already or do the turn...
I bought some fertilized eggs from someone who did not want them. They were laid about 3 1/2 months ago. Every website talks about them being white or yellow. Mine are pink and white. They do have veins. I checked to make sure that they are fertilized. Are they dead or is something wrong...
