I've never tried orchids but I was really tempted to when I was keeping Poison Dart Frogs. I just stuck with broms though, wish I had taken the plunge!
Full spectrum just gives the appearance of daylight. It does not provide any UVB, strictly UVA. You will need to purchase a linear fluorescent UVB bulb (like a Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 or 10.0).
Jann, these photos are so beautiful. You do such an amazing job at capturing the essence and magnificence of your little critters.
Just wondering, would you be able to send me some tips & care info on your red foot tort? I'm eye-balling one that needs some upkeep so any info would be appreciated.
Alrighty, decided to take a few shots of Gizmo while the camera was out.
Side-note, he makes me want to get another veiled. Should I go female or male?
Those were my thoughts too, that being said the red could come from both Faly or Mitsio, and he is quite turquoise. Thanks for the compliment!
Thanks John! I appreciate it :)
I've actually seen this before, just make sure you securely attach the screen box to the lip of the exo terra. You wouldn't want it to shove over slightly and have your chameleon escape!
Personally I think Archer is starting to look a lot like Naboo. That being said, at 8 months Naboo had much more colour than Archer has now.
Oh, I would also like to finally inform you all what locales Archer is. He was purchased as a Nosy Faly, but after a few short weeks I could tell he...
If you have not already done so, check out this care sheet:
https://www.chameleonforums.com/care/caresheets/veiled/
Scroll through it and you will see a supplementation schedule, as well as a specific section for female veileds. If you don't mind me suggesting so, I would recommend you separate...
LISA!
Your boys are looking WICKED! Stanley's high-turquoise is OUTSTANDING! You must be ridiculously happy with him.
AND DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON KRAYOLA! He's a red and yellow Zebra for pete-sake!! He's so mucho-gusto it's hilarious. The body-guard of panther chameleons.
You don't correct MBD. You just stop it. How old are they now if you bought them over a year ago? What is your supplementation schedule?
Side note, do you always keep them together like that? They seem a little cramped.
Thank you all very much! Naboo is a very odd, quirky chameleon.
Thanks for the input Lindsey, I thought so too.
He very rarely shows those yellows. Usually he only shows them when he is exposed to a tape measurer (I kid you not). So I was quite surprised when he did this in Harley...
So I finally decided to expose Harley Quinn to one of the males to see her reaction and some very interesting stuff went down.
Don't know if you'll be able to see the video, but this is what happened when I first introduced the two:

And here are some...
I haven't seen anything like that before. Was your vet trained in exotic animals/ history with chameleons? Because that sounds like some pretty crappy advice.
