    Gutloading crickets with Mulberry

I recently ordered 100 silkworms along with mulberry food. I made the mistake of leaving the silkworms in a container that ants could get into, and 75% of my silkworm population got depleted. Now I have all this mulberry food but no silkworms to feed them to, so I was thinking I can just...

    question.

Just a few observations based on your pics: -Is that a water dish? Cuz most chams will never drink from water bowls, especially if there's no movement. -I'm not a huge veiled cham guy, but as far as I know, glass terrariums aren't ideal for chams since they produce stagnant air and puts...

    Weird new jackson's

Idk, I would say 3-4 months? Hard to tell based off that single pic though. Gaping can be related to thermoregulation. Also, some of the "odd movements" you described kinda sounds like their territorial behaviors, which is normal Jackson responses to intruders. One of mine will do this if I...

    Am I an A-HOLE?

Hmm, I hope there was paperwork involved in this deal. How can he tell you he will "try"?? Either you do or you don't, simple as that. And if its a don't, you obviously didn't get what you paid for so he should not be offended in your request for a refund. If not, that is just bad business and...

    Jumping Jacksons...

I've seen that vid before multiple times..its pretty epic! One of my jacksons will jump, but nothing even remotely close to the distances in that vid! Just goes to show how chams are all different, and filled with personality =)

    More Po!

Po looks good! Growing so fast, isn't she only like 6 months? Thriving for sure, altho she definitely prefers her cage, lol...but don't feel bad, my kiwi's the exact opposite! Mad when she's cooped up in her cage (even tho its huge), glad when she's on the loose!

    Angry Po

looks like I stand corrected...Carla is a beauty!

    Angry Po

I think it's the males that actually mature into some nice coloration...and don't feel bad, my female Jackson would probably bite and hiss at me too if she was a veiled! She's broken my heart so many times already but I just take pride in the fact that she is healthy and thriving all thanks to me =)

    Angry Po

Looks like you're doing a great job so far so don't give up on her just yet! She needs you more than ever, and from what I can tell you're doing everything you can to make her happy =)

    Angry Po

I have to say, thanks for the laugh...it seems like most, if not all veiled are this way at some point. I do admire your unconditional love for her tho! I'm sure she'll come around eventually!

What a day with my kiddos

Thanks cami...I actually felt worse for the silkies than I did about the ~$40 down the drain. And trust me, they were sprinting!! Which also contributed to the shock...across grass nonetheless...wish I got it on video...which of course would have been bad, but still quite a sight to see.

    Big problem!

I saw a post recently about a guy who tried boxing his chameleon for long road trips...his cham wasn't having it, so the guy decided to let him out and turns out he found his comfort zone on the rear view mirror! Pretty funny...but yeah, depends on your comfort level with the cham as well...

What a day with my kiddos

Thanks, will do...I've been kind of pampering him since the bite, so I'm anticipating a full recovery :D

What a day with my kiddos

The other day I was cleaning out Tiger's cage (one of my male xanth's) hoping to resolve his hunger strike. I usually let him roam out in the yard while I do this, but apparently after feeding Jax (my other male xanth), I didn't properly close the cage. So, guess who escaped?? I saw out of...

    Best species to house outside?

I would say your jackson might be fine outdoors if there is plenty of shade in his enclosure, along with some kind of misting AND dripping system going throughout the day to keep the humidity up. jmo tho.

    Won't even eat silkworms :(

Thanks brah! I definitely hope I'm doing some good...I'm actually hyper critical about the horns so I'm not sure if I'd 100% agree w/you...guess I'm just OCD in that way, but it's always nice to get those kind of compliments. And yeah, I think you're spot on about the guy I bought 'em from...

My Female Jackson has big eyes!

All Jackson chameleons do this while it's raining or if they're getting misted, it's how they clean their eyes. I know it looks scary at first but you'll get used to it. All 3 of mine do it but only my girl has red eye turrets. Sometimes females go thru a red phase when they're young but most...
