Yeah, that's how most, if not all chams do it. That's how all mine do, it's because they can't wipe or anything and they don't wanna get it all ove rthemselves.
Yeah, she looks about ready to be done shedding! lol!
By the way, I totally thought of Po yesterday when I saw my Kiwi totally lightening up (literally) in her cage. Just cuz you were saying Po is doing great and opening up to you. I think our girls are about the same age so wondering if...
Ahh yes, the horns...another thing I tend to obsess about w/my 2 boys! I swear I've never been so OCD in my life, yet when it comes to these 2 I couldn't be more obsessive! But yes, the time and money really is the key...glad to hear Monty's thriving along! He's a fine lookin' cham, and a...
Cages are a controlled and safe environment!! I find great comfort in the fact that while I'm away at work, I can be sure that barring some kind of natural disaster (like a hurricane, or an earthquake) that my chams are 100% safe! If not, it's more stress on me and MY lifespan! lol...
Thanks Laurie, this means a lot to me! Yet I can only aspire to do as an amazing job as you with your (soon to be) 8 year old panther! I really do believe that if people know what they're doing and how to keep their cham happy, then there are few to none negative effects on their lifespan...
Thanks guys, I'm totally lovin all the comments so far...this thread has been a real blessing to me and my chams, and it's great to get this kind of support.
I've considered free-ranging in the past, I mean I love the concept and I really want to give my chams that kind of freedom. But in...
I got Kiwi back in mid-August, but had no idea what I was getting into. After a few weeks, I realized she was always dark colors in her cage(which was not normal) but lightened up if I let her run around outside of it. I started a couple threads on here trying to figure out why, but to no...
Sounds like a steal of a deal to me! I purchased a cage smaller than that with nothing in it for almost that price! And I would go with the 6 month old, give him some time to really grow on ya :D
Wow, Po is growing so fast! That's the one great thing about veilds, how fast they grow. My kiwi is older than Po but is also a bit smaller. She also refuses any interaction, so I only take her out once in a while. I pretty much have to chase her down in her huge cage, which stresses her out...
I just use natural sunlight (outdoors) cuz i live in hawaii. but for indoors settings make sure u have a basking spot and a UVB lamp! can't tell what u have from the vid, but live plants + fluker vines sounds about right. depending on where u live, i'd recommend a ficus (for indoors). i have...
hmm, i thought only male jacksons headbutted! lol! sorry to hear that po is acting up...those females i tell u...lol, j/k. i've never heard of them doing that...quite the personality, she has! maybe she's mad at how often u take her out? which sounds like it could be more than once a week :-P
lol hey no worries, not judging or anything. just a little tricky to understand everything that's going on w/ur cham. i apologize for any potential humiliation i may have caused. just trying to help! i love jacksons, and i wish the best for yours. you've come to the right place, so let's...
yeah, for starters I'd work on the enclosure. separation and isolation is the key to their happiness. privacy is right up there as well, look into getting more plants into each cage to the point that they can feel safe and have hiding spots. gl w/ur chams!
