I have a 30x30x18 ($35) and a 18x18x36 ($25). They both have wooden rods attached for hanging plants and Exo Terra Jungle vines. You can even have the pothos in them if you want. The 30x30x18 has been rescreened and I put hot glue around the sides for extra strength. The 18x18x36 is a DIY...
I completely agree with you that Quads aren't as appreciated as they should be. They are definately different and very unique and fun to have, we also had the same experience with all the time / care that goes into hatching them out (they are so rare to begin with, at least captive hatchlings)...
We had a few females lay and each preferred a different substrate, we had one girl who would only lay her eggs in a planted pot with dirt, she would dig and dig and then lay them in the roots, even though we had a lay box in the cage she did not like it. Another one of our females laid...
I don't know that I can agree with that. My old male T.Q.Q. was pretty colorfull:D They don't have the yellows, but they have nice blues. Still, you got a nice male. For reproducing.....KEEP THE EGGS AT A COOL AND CONSTANT TEMP!!! Once they hatch, it's easy.
Thanks for the post, Luis. I know they are going to do great there. Hopefully you will get some nice clutches from them. (You may be closer than you think;))
Josh
The clutch that did hatch and lived was kept between 67-73 degrees, if it gets colder or warmer then that then they may not make it. Speaking from experience we have seen both the warmer and colder temps kill the eggs, try to keep them a little warmer but no too warm and keep the humidity up...
You can do your research on Quads on the internet but unfortunately there is not much out there, what you find it pretty much the same 3 -4 paragraphs just phrased slightly different. This is the best place to get advice from people that have Chams and have had different experiences with both...
Lue, sorry to hear about your Cham loss, we hope that everything turns out ok with the little male Quad, keeping our fingers crossed.
Michelle and Josh
Thanks Harry for your kind words and thoughts, it is really hard for me to lose these little guys especially after watching the eggs grow for so long and then being so close to having them hatch out. The next two clutches are still developing and I hope that they will do well and hatch out...
Laurie,
Would be great to see yours hatch and survive and would love to get one from you, we still have the others that we showed you when you were over that look good as of now. They are two separate clutches with the one being unrelated to Jet and the two that we have. Hopefully at least...
Thanks for the nice words and now we all know why these little ones are so hard to breed / raise and sometimes keep. We didn't get the fridge yet but may look into it, actually we are selling our "trio" breeding quads to Luevelvet, he has been very into the Quads since acquiring two of our 1st...
Lue - are you saying that the little male quad went blind? Do you have any idea what could have caused that since you had another go blind in the same week? Do you think that they are related? How sad to hear, I hope that your other chams are ok.
By the way - we lost the eggs that were...
