Does anybody know what the gestation period of Quad chameleons is? Reasons being I am curious to know if my male is the sire or if my WC female retained sperm from the wild/import.
Female is *WC and was obtained by myself on April 3rd of last year.
From April to September she was housed in a...
A matter of fact i did add a bit of water after the first couple hatched, because i was checking the eggs alot more. Is that somethong that happens if you have too much humidity near the end?
Eggs incubated alittle over 4 months. Close to two weeks later and still have 5 eggs that have not...
Thanks, ill look into this polysporin. The baby looks lile its doing well and i am begining to think that it was a bit from one of the other baby. Still investigating that theory!
its an open sore that is now drying up.
Yeah i could of kept that thread, still will. Just thought that I could get more input from people on "health clinic" as this is where people go to help or find help here on the forums.
Used neosporin on an adult veil years back and didn't know if...
cleaned with a moist q-tip with a tad bit of peroxide when I noticed it. Its a sore for sure. Cage had a few pin heads, but for the amount of damage just doesn't equal up. It has been in the cage for just 7 hours. Thinking of putting a tad bit of vasoline over the sore to prevent infection...
No aggression by the little one that i have seen, what ever happen to it must have happen to it when it was on the side of the cage near the top where the blood stain is. There is nothing around that part of he cage.
Tube lights about 3 inches away from top and a basking light (small 65w) over...
I linked to the picture I case you can't see it.
It's not the yok and the eggs have been incubating for a little over 4 months.
Temp was 71-72* humidity enough to get small water drops on the lid in a few days.
Bloody baby Quad with picture

I just hatched a baby quad today that is doing just as described here. When the poor thing was hatching it had its tongue hanging out looking dead. 8 hours later and it's making random movements opening its month and sticking out its tongue. Thais chameleon is pretty big compared to my others...
they are being offered pinheads and ff inside, for sure i will have crickets in a little container when outside in the bigger cage.
Chams will only go outside while im able to watch and observe them. It will be a good time to get some good natural light. Im looking into the Butterfly cages...
I stay near the Long Beach area, bringing them in at night would be a must though. Still seems kind of cold for hatchlings. I set up my mesh cage outside, I still have to seal off a few sides to keep the humidity up. Its well planted and should serve well for humidity. I will move them as...
My question was more of inside/outside! Inside would be glass as I have been doing right now, out side would be mesh of course. I will do what I was prepared to do and all will probably be fine, I was asking for info from people that have raised clutches of baby quads, as I have only raised a...

this is my first clutch and I want to be informed to make all the right choices.
Thanks everybody,

Ok, so my eggs are hatching and I need some input on what to do next to ensure a healthy bunch.
For the first baby, I had a small glass cage with a screen top. One live plant and a piece of driftwood to crawl on. Lighting was a 25W reptile light which Im thinking might be too low. Chameleons...
what eeekroar said, check that you have enough light from some sort of plant light. A basking light is really just a small flood light, not capable of providing the light needs of the plant.
I live in the city, the only crickets around my house are from the once a week shipment of them that I get and dump in my outside cage. At night I sit by our home made pond/waterfall and listen to the nature. All I need is a few frogs and ill be set.
I live in California, where its not too...
