Hi all,
For my Jackson chameleon, how often should I provide him with supplements. I'm trying to create a weekly schedule for him to ensure he receives adequate amounts of calcium and vitamins including D3. I bought both the D3 version and the non-D3 version of Calcium supplements.
I have the...
Yes when I put him on the curtain, he started climbing it. They seem to be very curious when they are out of the cage. When he is in his cage, he seems to hide but when I take him out, he walks around everywhere. I thought it was very cool. Here is a picture of him climbing the curtain

Does he get startled when you do the spot cleaning? I recall a few times I reached my hand in his cage to clean something and he just freaked out.. I guess that is the only alternative is to do that if I don't take him out of the cage
For those of you who have automatic misters and no drainage, do you recommend a heat mat to dry up the newspaper at the bottom.. mine tends to soak too much after a spraying session. I'm just trying to think of alternatives to drainage at the moment but not sure if a heat mat would be a good...
Hi all,
Just curious where you place your chameleons when you are cleaning their cages? I know Chameleons tend to get stressed quite easily so I try to clean the cage slowly but realized that is very difficult with him in it so I take him out and have him roam around my room freely.. not sure...
Hi everyone,
I re-setup my environment yesterday. I have a live plant in the center which is huge and have fake plastic plants surrounding it. Is it acceptable to complement the live with the fake and have it mixed? I have some fake ones hanging from the top adding more foliage.
Please let...
I know the safe plant list is on flchams.com but what about those suffering from allergies. What plants are on the safe list that are also safe for people suffering from allergies? Anyone else in this situation? What plants did you get?
The problem is I also have allergies to plants and flowers. I'm trying to do my best research to find BOTH:
1. Safe plants for the chameleon
2. Safe plants for me
So far I found Hibiscus which on the net says it is safe for people suffering with allergies.
Anyone else have this problem...
Unfortunately I don't have drainage. It's just a flat plastic surface with some newspapers stacked. I have the 18x18x36 cage sold at flchams.com.. any modification I can do to create a drainage system?
Initially when the nozzles begin working, he gets scared and hides behind the foliage. I think it startles him but after doing it a few times today, he was starting to get used to it.
I will definitely add more branches/foliage tonight. I own 2 UVB bulbs. I'm using the Zilla Tropical one right now. I also have a ReptiSun 5.0 which I will be using next (in about 6 months when this one dies out)... or should I use that now.. not sure which is better. Anyways I will replace the...
Hi all,
I'm new to chamelons and was wondering if my setup was good enough. I've only had my Jackson for almost 2 weeks now.

I put a few vines, a real plant "Peace Lilly" which I purchased specifically because it has low allergens, Mist King misting system, UV bulb as...
I own the Reptisun 5.0 and also the Zilla brand one. The room during late fall/winter which we are in is currently 60-63 in the evenings. Is there anything I can purchase which will monitor the temperature and if it goes above 59, it will automatically turn the bulb on and then once it gets to...
