I have had trouble for a while keeping plants alive in my veiled chameleon cage. The lights are a 75 watt zoo med UVA basking light and a ReptiSun 5.0 18.5 inch UVB tube. Are there any other lights I can buy to provide more light to the ficus without hurting the chameleon?
Lol
Have you ever had a waxy monkey frog they are one of the most unique frogs on the planet their care is similar to a desert reptile. They require no misting but they should have a UVB light.
Geckos
Adult crested geckos need at least a 20gallon high tank, however a 10 gallon is good for a juvi or baby. A single leopard gecko can live in a 10 gallon for its entire life. Have you thought about the American Chameleon the Green Anole? They are easy to care for but do require UVB...
Dark Colors
My basking light is away from my chams plant as they light's heat kills that part of the plant, because of this my chams basks in the open and shows colors similar to yours. But once he goes back to his plant he turns light green again. Does yours stay this color all the time?
Very Cool
Im not really into fish but piranhas are one of the few I would like to keep. But sadily because I live in Commiefornia they are illegal to keep:mad:
Pinkies
In the wild like qutar and other countries where veileds are orginally from they do not eat mice. But in capitivity we offer them many founds that are not found in the area where they come from. Pinkies offer lots of calcium and fat and of course protein. This can be very benificial...
Veggies
Do not use iceberg lettuce as it contains little nurtition, also if you feed carrots cut them up very fine and feed on top of other veggies. Give fruits as treats for beardies as you would give fruit to a tortise.
Repti Sun Bulb Might be to hot for her
And the ir red light is not needed. What watt is the Power Sun Bulb? Also you should mist her more than once a day.
Info
When rasing a juvi try to provide more insects than veggies as they get old try intoducing more veggies into his diet, an adult should have at least a 60% veggie 40% meat diet some people will even say more veggies than that. Beardies can eat all kinds of bugs crickets and mealworms even...
Bearded Dragons
I had a bearded dragon a few years ago they are very cool reptiles that dont mind to be handled some even perk up when they see you because they accociate you with food. I had my juvi in a 20 gallon long and used a mercury vapor bulb to supply his uva and uvb. He looved crickets...
I finally saw Blade Runner for the first time and had my mine blown espcially on the part about the snakes and how real ones were almost extinct and cost tons of money what if in 50 years it is just like that?
So started school again and found it is hard to mist my chame 3x a day somtimes it is only 2x a day. Does anyone use drippers in their enclosure and if so can i make one from a water bottle or is it best just to buy one?
Ok thanks for the info
I made an extra effort to give him water these few days and his urates are back to almost all white n the feces are less solid and not suck to the floor when my next paycheck comes in a few weeks i will get a fecal done
My mom bought me a jar of Fluker's High Calcium Cricket Diet I was planning on buying some Cricket Crack but now I have this is this an alright gutload to use?
