I would suggest getting a collection of varied watts of basking bulbs and monitor temps thru the day to adjust as needed. You may want to think about getting a herpstat to keep the temp more consistent. https://spyderrobotics.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 That is probably the best way to go.
Mosquito bits used as directed to the soil of your plants. Sundew plant (drosera capensis). Katchy or other device. Sticky pads outside the enclosure and well away from your animal. Hatch a mantis ooth in your enclosure. Don’t overwater the plants. Take your pick of interventions.
Hi! :) You’ve gotten some fantastic help already. I just want to offer my idea about wobbly walking, and that is an overdose of vitamin D3. D3 is fat soluble, meaning it stays in the body longer and can build up to toxic levels. The symptoms of overdose can often look much like the symptoms of...
Hi and welcome! :) Can you post some pics of your chameleon and his enclosure? Sometimes enclosures can have a big impact on their stress, which is why I’m asking. Is his enclosure against a wall, in a corner, sitting in the middle of the room? Is it in the way of a frequently used path by the...
Unlike some other places/people, we don’t judge. We all started at the beginning, and some of us (myself included) had a rough start. I’d much prefer that you take a chance and put yourself out there for us to help, rather than return in a few months with your chameleon beyond our help. If you...
Huh… My issue is the manner in which he communicates with us…so negative and accusing. We are terrible and kill chameleons while those in Europe or another place do it right and so much better…we suck, blah blah blah. I tried to attribute it to language difference, or even a cultural...
Where? Am I blind? lol 😂 I did miss the dome light fixtures in the pics.
I do need to correct you…
**If using the T8 fixture that you show for uvb, the strength of the uvb bulb needs to be 10.0 or Arcadia 12%. However, since the T8 is only 18”, getting the 24” T5 would provide better coverage...
Hi and welcome! :) We can most definitely help you. For lights, you need a linear UVB, preferably a T5 (you currently seem to have a T8) with either an Arcadia 6% or ReptiSun 5.0. While a good uvb light can be a bit pricey, it’s no where near $200. I suggest going thru...
I am having mixed feelings (personally) about our use and overuse of vets when it comes to chameleons and chameleons only. We are very often quick to send people off to the vet. I’m just as guilty, so don’t be coming for me. I suspect different reasons for it - fear of saying something which may...
