Thanks everyone! I'm extremely happy with him! He wasn't too nice the first day home but thats understandable. I noticed he hasn't eaten any crickets yet but I'm not worried. I know many chameleons don't eat for the first few days.
The great thing is, he only gets stressed when I mist...
lol irony esp considering the phrase "everything right" lol.
Sorry I'm not making fun I'm only picking but I would like to know the answer to that as well. Why is your chameleon on the floor of a glass aquarium?!?!
Ok everyone, I wanted to inform everyone how Kevin did on his first day. I didn't see him eat or drink but I that is normal from what I hear. He pooped and it was wet, black with a little white and a little yellow. I know poop tells a lot and I think yellow means dehydrated? I misted him today...
I did the same thing. Worked on my enclosure for about a month and then bought my little guy. I signed up here to get feedback on it and everyone has been so nice. The best advice I got from members on this board is to get vines and branches and make it like a highway. Have the...
I just got a Carpet today and did a quick visual inspection and put him straight to in his cage while still in the container. It took him about an hour to finally get up the nerve to get out of the container and now he's chilling in the trees. The box was cold so I turned everything on real...
Thats funny because I thought the same thing. He probably does. He probably thinks I'm some sort of spy or something lol. I introduced a few crickets and even had one within the strike zone but he just looked at me like I was crazy! I'm sure he'll eat when he feels comfortable. I went out...
He sat there for a good hour and a half but in the last 5 minutes moved around a little bit out of the cup. I haven't offered him any food yet but I will in a little bit. He doesn't seem hungry. He's seems very very confused so I doubt he will eat.
He's here!!!!!! (Carpet Chameleon)
He's only moved an inch since 9:30 and it seems hes scared lol I took a quick picture and put him in his cage. He's still trying to figure out what is going on so I'm trying my hardest not to look at him! heres a picture! His name shall be Kevin!
Thanks ferretinmyshoes, I just wanted to make sure it will last for a few days until I'm able to buy my Repti-Sun. Its about 3 months old now so I'll purchase the new UVB in a week or so and have it replaced next month.
Thanks! I was thinking that it looked like a rainforest! My chameleon should be here tomorrow morning so I'm putting the final touches on it now. I'll see what branches I can find outside tomorrow. Is there anything I should do to them to make sure they are clean?
Ok here is the final product. I took the advice and added a fake plant and a few vines. The addition cost $12.00! Thank you Walmart! Tell me what yall think!
Ok, I returned my Compact and then looked for the linear version but realized I may have one. I took it to PetCo and they said that the bulb I have is UVB. Now I will replace it regardless but I am wondering if yall can help me identify this bulb. I've taken a few pictures. So my question...
Ok, I spent all night doing research and it seems they can cause blindness as well as other RISKS so I'm just going to go out and purchase a ReptiSun 5.0. I just don't want to risk anything. BTW, I purchased my carpet this weekend and am expecting him Wednesday!
ReptiGlo 5.0 Compact?
Did I waste my money? I just read a review that said "NO NOT buy Reptiglo" and after reading a few threads about MBD, I'm a little worried. It's a 26W 5.0 compact.
Oh and it says I need a UVA light? Never heard anyone else using this light...
