My 6yo chameleon now vs when I just got him

From what I’ve seen with other’s experience, he may have some arthritis which reduces his grip and agility. Adding branches or vines in between what you already have can be a help for him. Some have added safety nets to keep their falling chams safe from injury. My old girl, also 6, has an...

    It’s been a minute

Yes! Everyone’s favorite noodle! 💗 So glad he’s doing so great. Sorry that you had some issues, but also glad that you’re on the mend. Don’t work too hard. :)

    spots and dark colors

You definitely want to start reducing your cutie’s diet. I like to do things like that gradually. So, if you’ve been giving her say 12 feeders daily, bring her down to 10 daily for a week or so…then 8 and when you get to 6 feeders, go from daily to every other day. She’s still got some growing...

    Chameleon maps

I’m sure there’s a known reason for it (maybe?), but I’ve wondered what it is in each area that has caused specific colorations.

cage type- all screen enclosure. You don’t say what size and it does look too small to me. The minimum standard for an adult veiled or panther is at least 2x2x4’ (XL ReptiBreeze size). I urge/encourage you to upgrade her as soon as you can. A few inches may not seem like much, but here you go...

    spots and dark colors

she’s a veiled female chameleon, & she has been in my care since june 1st. i’ve asked around on here and they said she’s at least 5-6 months. I think I may have been the one who said that, so I agree. 😂 The spots and dark colors are her big girl patterns. Some girls will show mainly a default...

Hi again. :) I have an idea about her behavior, but give me a bit of time and I’ll go thru your husbandry.

    Sick, Rescued Veiled Girl

I have been summoned. 😂 You certainly picked the right time to mention my clean up crew escapees! For a few days I was having mass migrations of isopods! There’s usually a couple every now and then…usually when their leaf litter is needing to be replaced. I’ll occasionally find some desiccated...

    ❄️Winter is coming❄️

I would suggest getting a collection of varied watts of basking bulbs and monitor temps thru the day to adjust as needed. You may want to think about getting a herpstat to keep the temp more consistent. https://spyderrobotics.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1 That is probably the best way to go.

    Gnats…

Mosquito bits used as directed to the soil of your plants. Sundew plant (drosera capensis). Katchy or other device. Sticky pads outside the enclosure and well away from your animal. Hatch a mantis ooth in your enclosure. Don’t overwater the plants. Take your pick of interventions.

    Laying Bin

If your enclosure is bioactive, the whole thing is a lay bin. Just make sure to have enough depth of substrate.

    Sick, Rescued Veiled Girl

Hi! :) You’ve gotten some fantastic help already. I just want to offer my idea about wobbly walking, and that is an overdose of vitamin D3. D3 is fat soluble, meaning it stays in the body longer and can build up to toxic levels. The symptoms of overdose can often look much like the symptoms of...

    Scared chameleon

Hi and welcome! :) Can you post some pics of your chameleon and his enclosure? Sometimes enclosures can have a big impact on their stress, which is why I’m asking. Is his enclosure against a wall, in a corner, sitting in the middle of the room? Is it in the way of a frequently used path by the...

Links to plants or bulbs to help with husbandry ?

Unlike some other places/people, we don’t judge. We all started at the beginning, and some of us (myself included) had a rough start. I’d much prefer that you take a chance and put yourself out there for us to help, rather than return in a few months with your chameleon beyond our help. If you...
