Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad he looks healthy to everybody else and it's not just me. Oh, and the coke, yeah he is limited though I hear nothing but complaints about it from him. Maybe if he gets hired on as a coke spokes chameleon he won't complain so much.
First off, sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum. Maybe is should have gone in general photography?
Second, thanks. I was estimating him at two months when I got him in February so maybe 6 or 7 months old? I got him at PetSmart, which I should have gone to a breeder but you live and...
Took these of Moe today after taking him out for a good once over since his eating habits of changed. He looks healthy to me and I hope he does the same for all of you. Enjoy!
Every thing else is pretty normal and he is active. I took him out today to give him a good once over and I saw no physical issues or anything that would raise a red flag. As far as predators go, that's very possible as there are plenty of birds. Should I add his UVB light? As far as direct...
It's been mid 60's to low 70's at night and mid to high 80's for the most part during the day. When you say direct UVB you mean direct sunlight? Probably four hours a day or so. My yard is heavily treed. His cage is on my back porch which just like the backyard gets spotted direct sunlight off...
My container of hornworms has a sticker on it that says it's illegal to release the worms and moths as they are considered pests. I wouldn't do it for two reasons. One, since it's illegal, and two, you don't want to start a population of exotic species in a location that doesn't have them in the...
I guess I can't be exactly sure but how those new exciting exotic outside bugs are getting inside his screened enclosure is beyond me. I'm sitting by the cage now and he is pretty active, climbing every where. I have seen him eat a two crickets and he seems in no rush as he has passed up...
Moe's has been outside since the night of the 24th and has not been back inside since the weather has not been an issue. I do not have his basking or UB lights on the cage and they haven't been on it since he has been outside. I was wondering if anybody else has seen eating habit changes with...
I didn't think about tieing it to something. It has four live plants inside the cage now so I figured that would be enough. However, I'm sure I could tie it to the porch rails to keep it going from anywhere. Thanks for bringing that up. I appreciate it. Thanks for the info as well. I think Moe...
Thanks for the reply. I'll probably leave him outside. Maybe I'll secure the door to his cage with a bungie cord just in case. If it did rain would you see that as an issue at all?
Does anybody keep their chameleon outside at night? It's supposed to get down to 66 tonight and be 82 tomorrow. I don't really see much of a reason to bring him inside other than the chance of rain is 50%. However, he could probably benefit from a little shower. His cage is on my porch and there...
Moe got to be outside all day yesterday as it was so nice. However, when I moved his cage outside and after I put his plants back inside of it he went straight down to them. From talking to my roommates and from what I saw (when I wasn't sleeping) he never left the plants and seemed to stay more...
Last night I ordered some silkworms, butterworms, and hornworms (along with his favorite crickets) from Mulberry Farms. Anybody have any suggestions on how to try and get him to eat them? Last time I fed him butterworms and silkworms he would ignore them and even go on a hunger strike until I...
Yeah, I don't understand why he get's that way. I feed him 10 crickets a day. You would think that would be enough. After he munches them down he still hunts for a while. I'm going to be trying to re introduce him to worms again to see if he'll take to them now that he is a little older.
I used my camera on my phone to record Moe munching down on some crickets the other day. I thought I'd share it with you all. He's 6-7 months old right now and eats like a pig.

I tried butter worms and silks but they seem to go to waste as he goes on hunger strikes if I don't feed him crickets. If I throw a few in with the crickets they are completely ignored.
If you feed in the morning you could wait to feed in the evening instead. Then all your chameleon will be thinking about is it's stomach. That's how I got mine to hand feed for the first time.
Not too sure really. I bought him from PetSmart instead of a breeder, which is a bad thing on my part. Lucky for me he is healthy. I was estimating him to be about two months in February so maybe 5 or 6 months now? Kind of hard when I'm not sure when he was born and am basing it off of his length.
