Do not have any lights on at night, they need darkness to sleep so find another way of heating at night. i just use a blanket and cover his cage and this allows the temperature to drop which they also like.
He will definitely be too large for that tank in 3 months. I made the same mistake as...
haha you're right, i just read that back and it totally sounds negative. I am totally loving my experience with my chameleon and have never spent so much time staring at a plant, he blends in too well.
Looks awsome. Have you used this film before and tested how it stands up to light exposure and water? I am using a similar film over my cage and after a months worth of spraying water and exposed to light it is starting to go a bit cloudy. Mine is only 2x3 foot and i get it free from work so i...
Thanks for all the feedback, i hope to keep adding to this as i continue my journey of chameleon ownership.
One thing I wanted peoples opinions on is misting, well the first misting session of the day really. I usually give Doc his first misting on a morning before i turn his lights on hoping...

These are just my observations of owning a veiled chameleon so far...

Im not trying to be funny but how much research did you do on chameleons before you got one?
michelle did you make any of the changes advised in your previous topic? Im just wondering as everything seems exactly the same even though people offered some very good advice?
You still need to start gutloading your feeders and not relying on the petshop as they are hardly going to tell you they feed them crap, and really how hard is it to shove a few scraps of veg in with them?
You also need to get a thermometer and hygrometer to measure temps and humidity and...
