It could possibly be a little too high? No for sure way to tell without the solar meter, I’ve never used the uvb strip thing. I’m fairly new to chameleon keeping myself so maybe someone else has some better info to give you.
I think you can reference this picture since the T5 5.0 and the 6% are very similar, you can raise it off the top about 6 inches if his basking branch is about the same distance from the screen. If it is directly on the screen then you would want your basking branch even lower due to the uvb...
Bill strand recommends to have a heat lamp on until it starts raising ambients temperatures inside of the enclosure. On colder days here I will have it on all day but sometimes I’ll turn it off if the back corner of my house heats up in the afternoon so I can keep his temp gradient 70-80.
Do you have a solar meter 6.5? It’s pricey but 100% worth it to get so you can make positive that he is getting the UVB he needs. Surprisingly no name brand pet store near me had any so I had to order mine on Amazon. Super cute little guy you got there.
I’m glad I’m not alone😕, completely feel you on getting back home 16 hours after I left and feel like I have time for nothing except to go to sleep and wake up and go again lol. I get to see him for a bit though after I wake up and get ready and stuff. Makes me happy when I see him tho so it’s...
I don’t really have the option to feed the in the afternoon on a normal day due to working 2pm-10pm, I need to get serious with my guy and dubia roaches. He’s addicted to the bsfl and likes crickets but I’m gonna have to only give him the option of dubias for like a week and I think he’ll start...
Got stuck with mandatory overtime tonight, considering a new job in a few years once I’m vested. This now interferes a bit with getting up early enough to feed my guy at a consistent time. Hope everyone and their babies are having a great night, can’t wait to see the outcomes of the photo...
I had this same question a week or so ago. Summer is here and the back of my house where my Cham is doesn’t have the best airflow to get the cold air back there. A guy in Florida said to me that low to mid 70s is all he can get down toand they thrive. The important thing is to not have too high...
Just added 5 new branches, I could use a few more that are as wide as my enclosure, wish there were more oak trees around here, lucky my grandmas house has one.
I’m cursed living so far from a city with those stores lol, somewhat lucky at the same time because I can’t imagine how many more plants I’d have in my house. Everytime I’ve went tho they seem to be fairly common. Also, do you see anything wrong with my enclosure? Top of his enclosure stays...
Do you guys thing I should fill this space? I feel like I could give him a bit more cover in the upper back right corner. I bought a prayer plant that I need to wash and repot still but I think it would look good there. Also added the tackiest looking branch connection to give my guy a better...
I redid his uvb branch today and he kept crawling onto me while trying to get it figured out, once done I decided to show him the sun rays of the High Desert in Lake County Oregon
