Heyy again! So, I'm finishing up slowly my DIY enclosure (finally 😎) and I've come to this question. Will he be able to climb from side to top screen? The top is from 2 pieces as i ran out of screen almost, and isn't joined together in the middle at the moment. I'm considering leaving it like...
Hello there! So I've got some plants and this one was on sale, but I'm not sure if it's safe for veiled chameleon or not. I searched online and some say it's toxic, others say they use it for years without problems. Would it be too big of a problem if i used this in his new cage? I like the...
It is a very soft hair, almost like fur. I will try to wash it down and scrub them to see how it ends up, maybe most of it will come down with a little scrub.
Allright so i collected the branches and was going to wash them down and all, and noticed some of them being hairy like on the picture. I think it might be because they grew this year so they're still new, because other parts of the same branch are not hairy like this. Will that be a problem...
Helloo, so I'm finally setting up the enclosure, and i looked around outside for some nice natural branches. Found this lot chopped up on a pile right outside, it should be from a small tree called Rhus Copallina (the one with red things on it). I tried to search online, but didn't find anything...
Thank you! I think i will take the gray one and hope it's good. i will raise the UVB a bit anyways, just so i can move backing brancha bit higher and give him more space. Thank you all! <3
Maybe i found the perfect one. It's says it's gray not silver, and size is a tiny bit bigger than the photo i sent before. It is a tad more expensive but if it's the right one, I'll take that 😅
I'm very happy to hear that! But it's silver as you can see, so i think it will be too shiny and won't be able to see through very good while lights are on, or am i wrong? Also, for top, won't it be too dense for UVB to go through? Planning on Arcadia Forest 6% one, 2 inch off top, 6 inch under...
That looks so sick! The invisible mesh is really cool i like how it looks. Doubt i can find it here though 😅 I've already designed the drainage for bottom, just need to sort out mesh for 2 sides and top, and I'm good to go with everything finally. Thanks for cool photos though!
It all depends on the UVB you get. I found Arcadia 6% 24W UVB fixture here for decent money and wanted to go with that, but its too strong to be left like yours, could burn chameleon. Thats why raising the fixture and all, Beman helped me with that in the other post. I unfortunately do not have...
Yes, but a lot more UVB goes through 1/2 inch wire, so i would need to raise uvb 4 inch up and 8 inch under screen for the basking, thats a lot of unused space.
Yeah i know, but when i use big gauge screen on top, the UVB has to be lifted a lot. But smaller gauge is available only really small hgere, like 1.2mm small. And for the sides, this small wire would be too dense to see through plus might pull nails, and bigger gauge again is only 13mm which may...
Yeah i need to find a mesh for both, top and sides. In another thread i got adviced that standard aluminum mesh for top will be good for Arcadia light, but what is the standard one? Like the gauge and all.. if i use bigger gauge for the top, i would have to raise it quite high to ensure proper...
Isn't 1/2 inch like 13mm? That is pretty big no?
For the gauge i found that the basic window screen mesh has gauge of about 1.2mm only, that's why i was concerned about his nails.
Won't the small gauge on it cause his nails to pull off if they get caught up? I dont plan on free-range feeding or anything. Also, i can get the aluminum one in silver shiny only, wont it make hard to see in?
