DO NOT use iodine for same reasons Ferret described w hydrogen peroxide, it kills healthy cells as well. Best OTC treatment is plain bacitracin twice a day. It's even better than Silvadene as long term use of Silvadene can cause electrolyte problems.
Get Hydei fruit flies asap. You can usually find at Petco or Petsmart. Dust w calcium and use liberally, Then read as much as possible about culturing them and raising Brevs on this forum and elsewhere. You are way behind!
JimO, Im south of you in Naples. If you look at native ranges and reports from the EU, they verify Pauls observations wo problems up to 100+ degrees. At 85 here, my pumilums still snuggle right up to within a few inches of a 65w basking lamp. Gun temp 95 degrees.
I have pair each of Pumilum and Transvaalense from Paul Dec 2012. They are coloring up nicely. Both are very healthy, active and I am hoping amorous! I feed mainly 1/8" crix and Hydei w rotating supplements dusted. I also add in Blue Bottle flies and baby superworms 1-2 times a week.I have found...
An aside. You can't gutload fruit flies( use search fxn on Dendroboard) thus the focus on supplementation. I think this may be one of the problems that can arise with keeping bradypodian if keepers are using a fly heavy feeding regimen.
Funny question from a dart guy. Hate to see the flies in your house lol. Short answer is just like dart tanks they escape anywhere. Floor pans usually fit somewhat loosely and they will also easily get through small door cracks. Also like like darts, sounds like you might be over feeding if...
Ficus drop their leaves when too wet. I use 2 for each cage and rotate them each week. One week in cage, one in sun and it seems to have fixed this. On the contrary, I have killed about 20 schefflera and have never figured them out. Just me?
These are likely mites. Would get all substrate out ASAP and deep clean cage. Check your cham closely and hope he/she's not infested also. If so will need treated. Do not wait to do this as mites spread like a virus especially in a moist environment.
Love it. What are your plans to clean? I am working on something similar and this is always my debate. Light and movable to outside or more built but clean in place.
