A few months ago I posted a list of plants that can be found in Madagascar. Mostly ignored that list and and turned it into a generic terrarium with the hope that I'd be able to put some Brookesia in it eventually. It's been growing for a while now. A front opening 40 gallon.
On Saturday I...
Good luck. Follow the guides. I tried cutting corners on a cricket bin and it failed, but now there is an accidental self sustaining population in my bioactive enclosure.
I have some escaped crickets in my bioactive setup that are still reproducing months later. They're a bit annoying because my guy will eat those instead of the dubia roaches.
My intended cricket bin was not done right and stunk and died.
A few months ago I found a lot of little black bugs in a trap and brought them inside and tried to feed them to my little guy. Soon after they infested my house. Until then, they seemed good enough, and bred prolifically so I threw them in my Dubai box to see what happened. Months later they're...
I've got a zoomed 40 gal ~36x18x18 on a wire shelf. Won't get anything in it other than plants for a while though. The tank is sitting on it's plastic trim bits and not the glass. It's a lot more stable than it looks, but when I move again I'll try and find one with actual pins.
It's so close to being amazing, but it sheds so much and makes it not very good. Seems like there not a very good replacement for natural branches. Fake vines fall apart, bamboo can allegedly cause splinters, and I've heard plain dowels are too smooth and uniform and not recommended. Maybe...
Yep. Just leave the egg as it is in it's tub with the sponges, and follow the directions to keep them moist. A dark closet will give you the most success. (light negatively affects germination rates) When it gets close to hatch, take a good look daily.
My guy is a year old now from an egg I...
Exactly. It's got some fancy features built into it like seasons. But there isn't an Idiot's Guide to the hardware. I was thinking this earlier today, but if I was of the entrepreneurial sort, I'd put together a simple kit myself with the software preloaded, then sell it for a ridiculous...
I was just thinking of this today. There's a few projects where people use a RaspberryPi but nothing plug and play, or even a kit. I found this recently.

Thank you. That's kinda what I've realized. Assuming I get WC, then that cage setup is tainted and if I have any babies to make sure they never go in. If I ever have the 'problem' of making addition bloodlines shortly after, like if a WC female brings a surprise, I'll cross that bridge when I...
I decided to go ahead and put together a Brookesia setup. I'm trying to make it as naturalistic as I can, with native plants and whatnot. Ideally plants found in the northern area where B. stumpii can be found. I've been using iNatualist to do my research. My logic is that if I can't get the...
That's because the mods very actively and sometimes automatically remove all comments in support of misting, this forum, Chameleon Academy, and a few other resources and topics and anything implying that the reddit mod has imperfect husbandry.
Thank you all for the info. I'm just in the research phase right now and will take it all into consideration. If I do decide to get some, I figured I'd get a proper terrarium set up, and watch it grow while waiting for an opportunity to get something.
