Depends on lineage, Breeder, generation, Locale, etc. I would expect to pay ~$500 from a reputable breeder (like our forum sponsors). You can certainly find them for less if you look for Hobbyists that have tried, or do, breed. Ask questions, get as much info as possible, especially about...
I know that UV is unable to penetrate the glass and I don't attribute any possible improvement to added natural UV exposure. Rather I see it as as being similar to human behavior. When we are cooped up in a small space even with lights, we can become antsy and depressed. Getting outside into the...
The world may never know. :)
Now, Back to the original purpose of this thread...
I know it is still too early to say definitively, but I believe natural sunlight may be a big factor in Chuck's current coloration. As I said earlier, he had been kept in my bedroom with almost NO natural light...
You are correct that Arcadia says nothing about it being T5, however LLL does in the description of the bulb (not HO though).

T5 is a bulb type designation, like T8, T12, and CFL (compact Fluorescent). There is no T5 compact bulb. You can either have a T5 fluorescent bulb or a Compact fluorescent bulb, NOT both combined. T5, T8, and T12 are all Linear bulbs, the higher the number the larger and less efficient the bulb...
Thank you all for your thoughts. I will decrease the basking temp. Would it be worth while to lower the ambient temperature? As you know it gets very hot in Phoenix, so it is quite expensive to lower the temps even a couple degrees, but am willing if it would make a significant difference.
Sorry, I said 2-3 FEEDINGS, I give him ~6 XL Crickets each feeding, so ~12-18 XL crickets a week. The enclosure is wrapped on both sides and the back. Not just a shower curtain, but window film, so it is water tight on sides and back. I forgot that there is also a Spider Plant in there. The...
I can easily increase the feedings, I was under the impression that by a year 2-3x a week was preferred. Could that cause such a dramatic loss of color though? Keeping humidity high in AZ is quite tricky. I could add another misting session during the day, but then I worry the cage wouldn't have...
No more than before. Like I said, I live alone, so it is only me and I am only home for a couple hours each night and on weekends. Probably sees less of me, since most of the time I am in my bedroom when I am home. I moved him thinking maybe natural sun light would help.
Hello all. It has been a while since I last posted on here because things have been going well for my guy Chuck Norris. However, over the last few months he has lost virtually ALL of his color and is totally grey. He acts normal, eats like crazy, drinks regularly, everything seems good, except...
Looks like a healthy cham. Just out of curiosity, why the glove? Is he super aggressive and bites? The only time I needed a glove to handle a cham, was with a SUPER grumpy veiled that would jump on, and bite, my hand if it EVER entered his territory.
Having dragon ledges allows me to keep the floor free of any pots or plants. I ended up using a window screen kit with aluminum screen to make a screen floor. Water passes right through it into the drainage tray and I can easily remove the screen floor, spray it off, scrub with soap and water as...
It may be easiest to search for "light diffuser". It is called eggcrate by hobbyists, but it is a light diffuser. You can find it online or at the local big box hardware store.
I would upgrade the cage at any time. I got my guy when he was only a few weeks older you yours and I put his strait into his adult cage. He has done very well and just now about 6 months. They grow very fast and will outgrow your current setup faster than you would think.
