Where do you guys get them? Those look very useful. I have one natural stick, that I cut off of a [maple?] tree and baked lol. Was sure not to harm the tree, the branch was near the ground, and beginning to die anyway.
Laurie it doesn't look well defined for me to be completely sure it's a male. You're more experienced than I am (obviously), so I'm just looking at this as a way of learning, not as any way to start an argument :)
Well if they're soft bodied worms, then any size they can fit in their mouth wouldn't be dangerous. Superworms, as long as he chews it and swallows it ok it should be fine.
Probably not. Just make sure they can't see each other too closely, and also make sure your frogs don't escape because I wouldn't put it past a chameleon to eat a rogue frog :p
Hi Savannah,
Sorry to hear about your new baby. Could you please fill this out, it will help us to give you a more informed answer about why she isn't doing well. Is she acting differently than she usually does? Pictures of her normal coloring and pictures of her new coloring to compare will...
Don't quote me, but it looks like just some bad shedding. You may want to have a vet look it over to be safe, but I can't see a reason to worry about it too much. The other possibility is mouth rot, but I am by no means an expert on that so I'd have to pass the baton.
Do you have any female chameleons near him? Head bobbing is mating behavior. Also, just because you aren't worried about something doesn't make it not relevant. The How to Ask for Help is there so you can provide the information we need to make an informed conclusion. Specifics are important...
Mine doesn't like hornworms either. But he loves silks. One thing you can try is putting it on a branch in front of him, because he may not be recognizing it as a prey item when in your hand.
I've been working on some art using scratchboards, I haven't tried a chameleon yet because of their lack of fur/feathers, but I might try in the future. I finished an eastern screech owl and snow leopard, and now I'm working on a fox.
He hasn't pooped for 14 days? That sounds like it could be impaction, when he gets blocked up. Are there any fake plants in the enclosure? Veiled Chameleons are known to eat the leaves off of their plants, so if you have fake ones, he could have eaten one and it messed up his digestive system...
