I'm aware of this. BUT
If i could get bugs like that shipped alive without costing 2 or 3 x the normal cost in pennsylvania winter weather, i would. but until then, i gutload whatever feeders i can get my hands on.
I'm not new to chameleons in the very least.
I'll increase the basking spot asap and try feeding softer bugs. Could the fact that his diet has a lot of superworms and crickets in it play a part? I usually feed him around 11:00 a.m. but if food sits in his feeder cup, i don't know when he eats it.
Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Franklin is a 4 year old veiled chameleon. I got him new years eve
Handling - Only when he was placed in his new enclosure
Feeding - Alternate between crickets and superworms. Crickets get calcium enriched quencher cubes, flukers dry cricket food, and some...
Well, I have him hooked on drinking from a feeder syringe! So now he will for sure stay hydrated. Ferret, are the crystallized urates caused by dehydration? Or is it just a factor?
Thank you so much! Like I said in my message, feel free to snag the pics for your poop thread ;) ill be keeping an eye on him, but so far so good! Do you think the change in supplements could have played a part?
heres a pic of his cage. His large tree is rehabbing pretty fast, once it gets most of its leaves back in a week or two, its going back in there. The sparceness is temporary.

Well, my school pants are officially too tight and i refuse to buy more. I need 25-30 pounds gone. My mom and i are actually going this together (for once).
I started yesterday, the goal is to go to the gym 3-4 times a week, do floor exercises on days off, and eat healthy. Lots of salad...
He's getting so big! Still not as big as he should be, due to his early mbd, but he has definitely improved. He gets way too excited when he sees me with the feeder cup, and climbs like a pro. His balance is wonderful!
I tried doing a search function, but nothing was coming up. I know people have posted about this before, but what should be included in a chameleon, and other reptiles, first aid kit? Please describe the items and what they are for. Thanks!
This is soo neat! I haven't tried on my chams yet, but will here soon! I think I just brought back an old trend ;) but it's a good one. I wonder why it never stayed. It's almost a surefire way that if your away for a day and don't have a mister, that your cham won't get dehydrated ( as long as...
Tonight I was reading "Essential care of chameleons" part of the Herpetocultural series and some of the information seemed bias and outdated. But one thing caught my attention, does anyone have any experience using rodent water bottles in their chameleon's cages? From what I read, they quickly...
The photo doesn't show that well, but there is a large shefflura tree and also a hanging pothos. The only thing that hasn't been added yet are some bamboo perches. But thanks :) ill be sure to get some clearer photos soon. He hasn't really moved around much yet, he's very shy.
Well, i deff have a reputation building since I've started working at petco. I actually just got a new guy on new year's eve from a customer who didn't want him anymore. Josh and i built him a custom cage and I'm hoping he settles in. He's a very shy guy. He's about 4-5 years old. We named him...
That looks like an Oscar to me :)
Deff a tiger Oscar. Although it looks like its black spots on the orange, it still has a dark head and dark fin tips...therefore its orange on a dark base.
