Does a brown area mean its burnt as my baby veiled has a brown ridge running along the edge of his casque and down his spine which he has had since i got him. he hasnt shed since i got him either. Its not a dark brown and he seems to make his tail and other parts turn the same colour when hes cold?
so far i really only feed Doc baby crickets as hes only 3 months old. i have tried the occasional mini mealworm and just started to give him a small waxworm after hes ate his crickets as a desert.
thanks, i was worried that it may be too big for him but he seems fine in there and i couldn't imagine putting him back in the smaller cage now. he seems to have almost doubled in size since i got him, my gf is worried hes gonna end up the size of a dog lol.
took a few pics of him in his new home, a larger wood and mesh cage which he seems to like. although its hard to find him when hes not basking he seems to get around it ok and has no probs finding his food in the cup or the escapees.
I have just attached a sheet of matt encapsulating film to the front of my screen to help keep in humidity and heat as the winter sets in here in the UK. Its just like thin acrylic which is used to laminate posters etc but its semi rigid, easy to cut, heat resistant and non toxic. I work in a...
when was the last time anyone had problems with the compact uvb lights because I have read lots of people saying they used to cause eye problems with the older bulbs but i havent heard of any problems recently?
I have read a few times about people feeding their chams houseflies and bluebottles etc and i was wondering at the nutritional value of feeding these?
Fruitflies i can understand because they eat fruit but houseflies and bluebottles? dont they only eat crap and other nasty things? And what...
that cage seems small for an adult chameleon let alone 2. also you say your lights are on for 6 hours - how are they lit or heated when the lights are not on?
B&Q only seem to have small sickly looking ficus every time ive looked. Homebase have decent Schefflera but not as cheap as lidl. Strikes seem to have a decent selection but im not sure on which are recommended for chameleons.

I found a store in the UK who sell the repti breeze screen cages for almost half the usual price. I will stick a link up when i get home. I will be getting one as soon as Doc is big enough not to get lost in one, it hard enough to find him in his current home...
I put a few crickets in again this morning and he was straight onto them. im so glad hes eating. I think im going to throw a few more in seeing as he didnt eat anything yesterday.
Hi carol,
