I also have a cheep-o timer from wally world. It has a single plug, but put a power strip/surge protector in there and VOILA! My only problem with it is it covers one of my other plugs up. There's also a digital one at wal-mart. Also single plug, and only around $15(I think?)
Do chams have different metabolisms like humans? More of a curiosity question that popped into my head looking at the pics. (I'm sure for that casque he would have to be a HIGH metabolism)
I know I saw on another thread - searched and can't find it - that someone here was selling them. I'm interested on starting a colony. Everyone says they're so great, so why not join the fun!?

Hey all. Just looking through old posts and saw this thread.
Now I know there were a lot of run of the mill creatures, (snakes, leopard geckos) but the show was still and improvement than the first one. How the vendors treat their reptiles is not the host's doing. Instead of bashing...
Okay. I'll probably just hit up PetCo or PetSmart for the light. How would I cool down the room? I have a naturally warm room. Just a fan or something? I'm also gonna try to make the DIY mister. That should cover the cooling, right?
Yes, it's a screen enclosure. I haven't dusted any crix yet. I can't remember what the gutload is, but it's store-bought. It came in a plastic baggy. Wouldn't superworms be too big?
The UVB bulb is tube-type. It's not the reptisun 5.0 that everyone talks about. I believe it's a sylvania full...
I bought my timer from Wal-Mart for $6 or $7. It has only one socket, but a small extension with multiple plugs (or a power strip/surge protector) will fix any covered plug problems.
Okay. I've been reading all around the net, mostly here, and finding A LOT of help. (THANKS!) I've got most all of what I've read to do. I have a veiled female, Mel. I'm guessing around 3-4 months old(?), she's about 3 1/2 to 4 inches from nose to base of tail.
Her enclosure includes...
HEY! A neutral party! I say to agree with jojackson about the experimenting and such. I've had my chameleon for almost a week and have learned things about her personality just by watching and experimenting. You learn what temperatures he likes, whether or not he's comfortable being held/fooled...
Been to one so far, but it's gonna be bi-monthly. My aunt and uncle host the Central PA Reptile Expo in Carlisle, PA. It's a new show, this month was only their second show and a huge success! It's also where I got my veiled as a gift for helping with the show.
Absolutely beautiful! To be able to see such a creature as that amazes me. I'm a new owner of a veiled, and love seeing pictures, as I have never really been interested in them before owning one. :D:D:D
I just got a veiled about a week ago, and have quickly learned that she likes it MUCH more in her enclosure rather than in my hands. When I just try to take her out for a moment to roam free, she usually looks around, then moves straight to her cage, then chills on a branch. I could leave the...
I'm thinking of making a cage for my veiled. I bought her about a week ago at a reptile expo from a reliable vendor. She is 3 1/2" to 4" from tip of mouth to base of tail. How big should the enclosure be? She's in a 12"x12"x18" glass enclosure, and want to make it with fiberglass mesh/screen...
