I don't think there's a perfect science but so far so good. I've only really noticed two or three in the past feedings getting out whatsoever. I think really it's the conversations that I have with the crickets before I put them in there. I give them a big lecture like win one for the Gipper...
I think the magnets are 5/8" or 3/4". I have had these in my workshop for quite sometime. They actually fell off (came un-cemented) of a high end speaker soundbar from a system I have.
My indoor cooler month enclosures are DIY 18x18x36 (female) and a custom 18dx36x36 (male) that I...
Ok,so in the name of science I just added 1/2 dozen crickets in to see what happens. By the look on Luke's face, they're not going to last very long. Also I added another pic of the bottom on the feeder. Note the holes drilled in the bottom cap for potential water drainage if needed.
And I completely agree on adding something in to keep the roaches active. My female knows what they are when they stand still and they don't last very long. Luke on the other hand isn't that smart. Shout out to all the women out there, yes I just said you all are smarter than men.
tks Frank. Yes roaches and supers are going up and down. I actually just put another super in there to take a pic, and before I could grab my phone, Luke had run over and already snapped it up. Today was the first day I put this in Luke's enclosure, so discoids and a couple of supers were on...
For my indoor enclosures during the cooler months here in FL, I used white corrugated plastic sheets that I got from Lowes as splash guards. I used heavy duty velcro to attach to the enclosure's frame. Its done the trick for me. I've seen other members actually use this similar product as the...
I've always prided myself over the years in being quite handy. I look around and see what others do, and then I tweek those ideas a bit and make them mine. IE: my indoor and outdoor enclosures, my planting methods, my drippers, my drip pan, my enclosure stand, my lighting dimmer, and my...

some sun and a shed...
Mara Jade had a great time in the big ficus tree the other day. She then proceed to get real grouchy and do a nice full shed the next day. She's up to 77 grams.
I wonder if there would be a way to install some kind of little "lift pump" in there the help w/ the removal of water. a syphon and drainage water isn't anything I'd want to put near my mouth. :p Good work.
Good work. In no time at all, your pothos will be running all over the place. :D Did you use pond liner or shower pan liner for the bottom? I'm curious what is under it for support? I have some shower pan liner in the garage that I wanted to use for my last upgrade, but the plan changed 1/2...
Last time I played with marbles, one made its way unknowingly into my nose. You should keep them away from me and your cham. Definitely not the best of options to use. Lowes / Home Depot both have normally a couple of options to choose from. I personally think the black polished...
Discoids are ok in Florida...
I'm right w/ you on hating crickets. Roaches are quiet, don't smell, don't climb on glass or plastic bins, and are quite prolific. I have my discoids in my garage and even this winter when its been cooler, they're still popping out nymphs. I have a heating pad...
