That is awesome, and whether or not he likes it...that light will be of great benefit to his health:) I would focus on getting him some privacy now, you’re doing great. Get some plastic terrarium plants in the front so he has some privacy. These are like $3-$10 bucks each... I have three in...
What’s his approximate age? Is he active and roaming around? As Chams get to be adults from what I’ve read, recommended feeding is 4 days a week, skipping in between. Continue misting/hydrating daily as usual, every single day. But this is only if he’s reached adulthood.
Good luck,
Bobby
Yes the linear reptisun t5ho would be great. The compact uvb bulbs “rays” don’t travel, if you will, far into the enclosure, emitting the exposure needed. Linear lights usually will go “deeper down” and cover more area. This is an important part of the setup. It’s your Chams “artificial sunlight...
Thanks...he’s shedding right now. But, yes he went to town on the hornworm... I have not observed him attacking his food like that before!
Kindly,
Bobby
If you forgot it’s human error, try hard not to do it again, I did it once before I got my timer...BTW if you don’t have a timer that’s a great thing to get for your lights :)
In the photo he looks good! Yeah he’s real close to that basking light I’d bend that bendy vine down lower like ever helpful @jannb said...my first guy got MBD :( ...now I’m like you and checking for signs...
Yeah Cham are arboreal animals , as a permanent home, hieght will be a problem, the recommended adult chameleon enclosure is 2’x2’ square by 4’ tall...that enclosure may work for now but an expert would have to chime in maybe @jamest0o0 or @Brodybreaux25 could tell you If this will work long...
If you just acquired them, give them some time to acclimate to thief new surroundings...also Chams simply sometimes (most of the time) don’t enjoy handling...its a case by case thing...each Cham is different...but approach it with your hand below and under its sight line, maybe with a treat in...
(y)Yeah it scared him and he fired up,, I had to move our dogs bowls because my dude was flaring up when they would go to eat and drink...nice looking panther you got there
Wow, great read...I’m doing some things wrong I guess and need to think about night time humidity and (possibly a fogger) I would much rather Harry get a closer simulated habitat...thanks @jannb for sharing this great information. Glad your guy and his offspring won the photo contest, hope it’s...
