Hi everyone. This summer, my lil sis assigned me to take care of her yellow footed tortoise. I don't know anything about tortoises, but did knock some sense into her when I saw the poor thing in a 20gal tank. He's a bit older than 3 (she got it 3 years ago from the petshop) and he doesn't look...
That could work just fine. You would want to put paper towel or something soft on the bottom in case he falls. Doesn't look like there's much to hold on to. I personally wouldn't use it. Looks too small and if you're forced to evacuate it could be a rough time for the animal.
For moving my cham...
That is one nice schefflera!
What I used to do for an outdoor enlosure was that I'd use chicken wire (smallest squares possible, and coated also) and make a cylindrical enclosure with a top and put the plant inside it. Might take two rolls, since the plant is pretty big but they will appreciate it.
I would confront your vet about it... That's definitely not cool. They call themselves professionals and then do damage like this to an animal. What a shame.
Maybe if you post a picture of how they look we could maybe see if they're too short to grow even a tad bit back?
I loved having a Jacksons more than I liked my Panther to be quite honest. Mine was so friendly. I loved him so much that I even got a cartoony tattoo of him. Watching him drink water all day was also the cutest thing ever; barely saw my Panther drink.
It's the lil things
Looking at your light schedule, he may be oversleeping because he isn't getting enough sleep time. Chams need 12 hours of sleep. 13-14 during the winter. If he's "napping" during the day, that's definitely a sign of something wrong.
However, I don't think this is the only problem. You say you...
I just don't understand why you couldn't give the poor guy to someone else. Anyone on the forums, or hell, maybe even Craigslist if you live in a populated area.
For all it's worth, when I was around your age (14), I acquired my first cham. A young jackson just like yours. I'll admit, his...
Hi everyone! Long time no see. Just finished my first year of college and couldn't keep any chams in my dorm. BUT now I'm living on my own so it's finally time to buy myself a third one :)
I've been searching around here and in the sponsors' sites, but I'm very indecisive on what cutie I'm...
Alright, I haven't posted in a while. Hope you are all doing well.
Anyhow, the other day, I was bored and I thought, hey maybe I could dig up my dead chameleon and use his skull as a necklace or something. I got excited with this idea, but then I dug up the exact spot and no trace of the...
I was too late :( I just found my chameleon dead. I can't believe I couldn't take him to the vet on time. I feel horrible just thinking about it. Thank you for your willingness to help though, I really appreciate it.
I'm still posting the sticky just to see what I had wrong. I don't want this...
Hi everyone, hope you are all well. My male panther chameleon has been looking very strange recently. He sleeps during the day (recently, the time periods he sleeps during the day have increased), he can't use his tongue from far away; he just misses the insect and has to go really close to eat...
Oh my gosh! I saw the picture and instantly thought it was my chameleon haha! Very cute, def gonnna be a stunner in a few months (not that he's not already, he'll just be even more stunning ;) )
Idk, I've usually completely disregarded moths with any interesting coloring like that. Especially reds, blues, and I guess purple now. Did not know there were purple moths honestly. Don't take my word for it though, I'm sure someone on the forums knows more about moths than me :o
Dang, what a beauty! Nice reds on him. Like Hitched said, it's perfectly normal for them to do that. Just make sure the branches are always clean, of course, so he doesn't get hurt or infected or anything like that.
