So I introduced my new female, Ashi, to Yoyo (male). Yoyo INSTANTLY ran over and started doing her. I just wanted to let him see her but he jumped off my hand to go see her. Little horny toad. I figured he was too young at 5 1/2 months to breed. I'm keeping them in separate cages and I moved her...
Hi guys, I've really been wanting an adult female Cham, and Primeval Pets was generous enough to find one for me. Her name is Ashi, and she's about 1 1/2 years old. I've been doing research about females and what not, but any advice would be amazing. She's a feisty girl, and I don't know if...
Sounds like she had an infection, sorry to hear. My first ever baby, Orange Juice lasted just a few days after the garentee. They offered me a discount but I only wanted to know what I did wrong. Their care guides were very inaccurate and I honestly will never trust there again. I got a male...
I leave Yoyo outside all summer. I live in Oregon, and the weather changes constantly, so just watch for that. I put my guy in half sun half shade, so he can choose which he likes. Just make sure your guy isn't getting too hot, Yoyo seems to get pretty warm in the sun.
My Cham absolutely loves em. That's why I wasn't sure if they were suppose to be a treat haha. Thanks for all the info guys, and I'll try and find a local place for those orange roaches too! I usually switch up with hornworms and some soldier fly larvae.
Oh my goodness, what a cutie. I'm so glad you had success with this lil guy. Most people don't have the best experiences with it. Hope he grows up big n strong!
Haha, my Cham used to 'stash' his worms. He'd wait until I added up about ten over the weeks and then eat them all at once, little stinker. If you wanna feed a DELCIOUS treat to your Cham, I'd recommend a hornworm. They're easy to digest, have a good amount of calcium, and the chams seem to...
Another thing, I see mealworms in her feeding bowl. They're okay to give occasionally, but they're not a good staple. If it's her staple you could compare it to someone only eating brownies. It'll keep you alive for awhile but it's not healthy and you'll get weak. I'd give her a juicy hornworm...
Make sure you're dusting with vitamins and such. Not too much, not too little. My friend had the same problem and I figured out it was because he wasn't giving her vitamins. Also, certainly get a screen cage ASAP. Glass cages when misted or have a lot of humidity or water in it can let bacteria...
Hello all, I have a few questions about the dubia roach as a feeder! Both my beardie and my chameleon LOVE them. They act the same way when they see hornworms (rubbing their nose on their enclosure as I'm taking them out, running around, just being giddy) and I'm wondering...are they a good...
Okay, I'll check up on the safe foods and go shopping for him tomorrow. Also, is it okay to just have a shallow bath in his enclosure? I'll attach a pic of it
So the UVB reptisun 5.0 is the straight bulb, and the round bulb is his heat and UVA. I don't run the UVA when it gets too hot, as in southern Oregon we've been having temperatures of high 80s low 90s. He seems to hate it, because he opens his mouth if I turn on the UVA bulb. Tried to get all...
Here is his inside enclosure. This one is 3.5 ft by 2 by 2. He has a reptisun uvb/uva 5.0. He also has a few chains (he hasn't gotten his feet caught in them and they're his favorite thing) and a small tire swing. I think since the hibiscus is so cramped I'll move it to his daytime enclosure so...
so I've heard chams love hibiscus plants, so I bought my Cham one. He's been munching on it a lot, and I'm just a little worried if he can eat too much. Also, is the lighting and heating okay for the hibiscus or should I take it out of his enclosure and let him go outside on it? Thanks!
Thanks for the reply, I feed him collard greens in a salad a few times a week. I will try the calcium vitamin thing you mentioned, along with the olive oil. I tried asking on breardie org but most people were not very helpful and just suggested I soak him more (I do every 2 weeks)
