Gravid cham sleeping during the day, stopped digging holes

That is a really good observation, I didn't even think of that. I do not use any grow lights right now, but I am planning on getting some soon. I will check out those two options!

Gravid cham sleeping during the day, stopped digging holes

Sorry about that. I started this thread to improve visibility, since questions may not be answered as fast on a documentation thread. Too much. I mist two or three times a day, and I try to feed her every morning. I really need to giver her a break though! Sadly there will be some noise...

Gravid cham sleeping during the day, stopped digging holes

I do have a curtain hung now, thanks for that tip. I've peeked a few times since I hung it up, and have yet to she only just went back to sleep. However she is in stress coloration, so it might be scaring her. The lay bin is about 7" deep, and it is wet enough for tunneling. It is white sided...

Yeah panthers do not have spurs, that's pretty disappointing to hear from a supposed professional! I hope the rest of the care that Danny is receiving from the vet is better than this. Nevertheless, he's still incredible!

Gravid cham sleeping during the day, stopped digging holes

Heyo. I've got a recently imported female Calumma malthe that is full to bursting with eggs right now. She's showed somewhat of an appetite since I've had her and has, that I know of, eaten one cricket and one roach. On the second day of having her, she dug a practice hole about 2" deep in...

Well I hope the sun comes out soon! Check out this page for some super detailed info on locales: https://www.madcham.de/en/category/chamaeleons-habitatsdaten/lokalformen-von-furcifer-pardalis/ You'll have to translate it from german, but it's a treasure trove of information.

My project with Calumma Malthe, Emerald Eared Chameleon

Hello there! I recently dove back into chameleon keeping with a pair of Calumma Malthe, or the emerald ear chameleon. The pair is wild caught, assumed to be about 1 year old, and they have been treated for major parasites. The female is currently gravid and has dug 1 practice hole so far, 2...

    Some tiny calumma fun

Those are so incredible! It's funny to me that both the smallest and largest true chams are from the same genus!

He looks like either an Ankaramy or Tamatave, potentially crossed with a common Ambilobe. The almost checkered patterns and the very prominent lateral stripe are giveaways for me. I've been looking for those locales for some time, but everybody breeds Ambilobes xD Definitely try the sunlight...

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

Laying update. She attempted to dig in a pot of syngonium yesterday, to no avail. SHe hasn't moved from her perch above the lay bucket, not even 3 hours after the lights came on. I'm a bit concerned that she'd dig a practice hole and then quit like that. She also has yet to eat any food, or...

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

Update on laying. She stopped digging at around 8 last night, right before her lights went off. She managed to get about 2 inches in, and has yet to resume digging today. I'm not going to look at her at all today, let her do her thing.

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

Well, I guess adding a bigger lay bin did the trick because the female is now digging in the sand! This is so thrilling! Can't wait to see how many eggs she lays!

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

Alright, here are the chams and their homes! The female is in an 18-18-36" enclosure, while the male is in a 24-24-48". The only reason for this is that I couldn't find any other 18-by's and I needed a cage, and honestly I'm happy that I got this one instead! For the female's lay bin I'm using...

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

How might I tell if she's getting ready? She has been exploring a good bit, so is that a possible clue?

so should the bin not be in her cage? I was thinking I might separate her out, but I'm nervous to move her around any more.

First time looking for imports. Anyone got a crash course?

Alright, the chams landed at my home on the 3rd due to a miscommunication on the end of the seller. I had to scramble to assemble the male's cage and have not had time to put together my fogging/misting system, so that is being done by hand at the moment. Don't have many pics, I'll take some...

He's so beautiful! Thank you so much for all of the help and advice! Live plants it is then. I've got experience with planted vivaria, so I can probably keep the cages going well. I'm picking up one more cage & another UVB bulb today, we have a bunch of leftover supplies from previous...
